  • THE UNIQUENESS OF EASTER: REV’D S.A ADELEKE DECLARES THE RESURRECTION AS THE FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIAN HOPE

THE UNIQUENESS OF EASTER: REV’D S.A ADELEKE DECLARES THE RESURRECTION AS THE FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIAN HOPE

The atmosphere at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Okoro, Oke-Itunu, Ibadan was filled with reverence and joy this morning, April 5th, 2026, as Rev’d S.A Adeleke delivered a powerful Easter sermon during the English Service session, reminding worshippers of the unmatched significance of Christ’s resurrection.

Preaching on the theme “The Uniqueness of Easter,” Rev’d Adeleke emphasized that while various religions and belief systems recount the birth and death of their deities, none presents the historical and scriptural account of resurrection as clearly and powerfully as that of Jesus Christ.

“Various deities or gods have accounts of their birth and death,” he declared, “but none have the account of their resurrection. The resurrection of Christ was explicitly stated in the Bible and fulfilled exactly as written.”

Highlighting the uniqueness of Easter, the cleric outlined four profound truths that set Christianity apart.

First, he affirmed that Jesus forgives sins, referencing 1 John 1:9 and Mark 2:5–7. “No matter how grievous your sin,” he assured the congregation, “Jesus forgives.” He stressed that the resurrection validates Christ’s authority not only to heal but to cleanse humanity from every stain of sin.

Second, Rev’d Adeleke spoke on the redemptive power of Christ’s sacrifice, citing Hebrews 9:13–14. He reminded believers that Jesus shed His blood to deliver humanity from guilt. “The blood of Jesus was not symbolic,” he explained. “It was sacrificial, powerful, and sufficient for our redemption.”

Third, he emphasized the abiding presence of Christ. Drawing from John 14:18 and Matthew 28:20, he reassured the congregation that Jesus never abandons His people. “When things are smooth, we can be sure we have a companion. The God of the good time is the God of the bad time,” he said. “His resurrection assures us of His presence. He lives, and because He lives, we are never alone.”

Finally, Rev’d Adeleke proclaimed boldly that Jesus is alive, referencing Acts 1:9–11 and Revelation 22:12. He noted that every prophecy concerning Christ has been fulfilled, underscoring the reliability of Scripture and the certainty of His promised return.

In his stirring conclusion, the pastor reminded worshippers that Easter is not merely a celebration but a call to readiness and reflection. “Easter should remind us that God is coming back,” he declared, urging believers to live in holiness, faith, and expectation.

The sermon left the congregation deeply inspired, reaffirming that Easter is not just an annual observance but the cornerstone of Christian faith—an enduring testimony that Christ conquered death and offers forgiveness, redemption, companionship, and the promise of His glorious return.

  • Why Governor Ademola Adeleke Merits a Second Term in Osun State

Why Governor Ademola Adeleke Merits a Second Term in Osun State

As Osun State looks toward the future, the question before many citizens is whether the current pace of governance should be sustained or disrupted. For supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the answer is clear: continuity under his leadership offers Osun the opportunity to consolidate recent gains, deepen reforms, and complete projects already reshaping the state.

    Restoring Stability and Workers’ Confidence
One of the most visible hallmarks of Governor Adeleke’s administration has been its emphasis on workers’ welfare and industrial harmony. From addressing salary arrears to prioritizing pensions and promoting dialogue with labor unions, his government has helped restore confidence among civil servants. A second term would allow these reforms to mature, ensuring long-term stability in the public sector and improved service delivery.

    Infrastructure with Grassroots Impact
Across Osun, road rehabilitation, school upgrades, and healthcare facility improvements have been central to the administration’s agenda. Rather than focusing solely on headline projects, the Adeleke government has emphasized community-level infrastructure, linking rural economies to urban markets and improving access to education and healthcare.
Re-electing the governor would enable the completion and expansion of these projects, maximizing their economic and social returns.

    People-Centered Governance
Governor Adeleke’s leadership style has resonated with many citizens because of its accessibility and populist touch.
Town hall engagements, responsiveness to community needs, and a governance tone that prioritizes inclusion have helped narrow the gap between government and the governed.
In a state with diverse political and cultural interests, this approach has contributed to social cohesion and reduced political tension.

    Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency
Despite economic headwinds affecting states nationwide, the Adeleke administration has pursued prudent financial management, focusing on realistic budgeting and accountability.
By strengthening internally generated revenue while avoiding excessive debt, the government has laid a foundation for sustainable development, one that a second term could further solidify.

    Continuity for Long-Term Development
Many of Osun’s development challenges, youth unemployment, industrial growth, agricultural modernization, are long-term by nature.
Abrupt policy shifts often stall progress. Granting Governor Adeleke a second tenure would provide the continuity needed to translate policies into lasting outcomes, particularly in education reform, skills development, and investment promotion.

    Conclusion
Elections are moments of judgment, but also of vision. For voters who value stability, inclusive governance, and the steady completion of people-oriented projects, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s record offers a compelling case.
A second term would not just be an endorsement of past efforts, but an investment in a more consolidated and prosperous Osun State.
