  • Gov Adeleke Faults Ambo-Adereti Agenda Sector by Sector

Gov Adeleke Faults Ambo-Adereti Agenda Sector by Sector

    –  Says Opposition Bereft of Governance Ideas

    By Iyiola Olalere

Oshogbo:  Osun state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has faulted the manifesto of the opposition, calling it “a warped plan incompatible with the needs and aspirations of Osun people”.

Speaking shortly after attending the 2026 May Day rally at Osogbo, the governor cited each of the items on the APC manifesto as ill thought-out concoction hurriedly packaged together to deceive the people and mask the confusion within the camp of Bola Oyebamiji over governance agenda.

Under economic revival, the Osun APC mentioned agro-processing zones in each senatorial district. But the Oyetola/Ambo government in their days gave less than 100m Naira per year to agriculture (Cash crops and Food Crops) between 2017 and 2022.

Governor Adeleke has however invested heavily in cash crop expansion with tractorisation and seedling initiatives. Oyebamiji’s fundamental thought is warped because you can not have processing value when you don’t have agricultural production.

Oyebamiji mentioned Internally Generated Revenue without pain but as the Finance Commissioner, he taxed the artisans, traders, and Okada riders, till his last days in office without empowering them or supporting their welfare.

He should tell us how much Oyetola/Ambo gave out to cooperatives during their hardship tenure. Governor Adeleke on the other hand has disbursed huge funds to cooperative movements across the state.

The opposition made deceitful claims of workers and pensioners first with arrears to be cleared through structured financing. This is a lie. Ambo and his team are labour’s poison.

Why didn’t he use structured finance to pay the 30-month half salary arrears, when he was a commissioner of finance especially as state debt increased between 2017 and 2022?

Ambo’s boss, Gboyega Oyetola then said, debt funds are meant for projects, projects that are overloaded or over-priced. Was Ambo not the Finance Commissioner then?

The APC agenda promises Youth and Tech empowerment through Osun Tech City to create employment. Throughout their tenure, Osun had no state ICT policy. The Digital Economy was foreign to them.

Governor Adeleke has however established Osun ICT policy and legal framework which are being implemented with specific projects being scaled up for the benefits of residents. ICT initiatives to power government and render services to the people are being rolled out on regular basis.

For Oyebamiji who superintended over Osun state’s investments for close to seven years, How many jobs did he create and what happened to Osun state’s investment in Omoluabi Garment Factory, Shopping Mall, Lagos properties? Were they appropriated by his boss? He should answer these questions.

The opposition agenda also listed infrastructure that works. Osun people can compare the APC’s years of locusts and the three years of Governor Adeleke’s statewide delivery in the infrastructure sector. The Oyetola/Ambo period left many abandoned projects, many of which Governor Adeleke had almost completed. Osun has moved past the years of unimaginative and unambitious handling of the infra sector.

On Education and Health, Mr Oyebamiji promises functional PHCs in all 332 wards. Till date, both Oyebamiji and Mr Oyetola have failed to explain how they used the $20 million health fund meant for PHC. One of their aides just admitted on radio that part of the fund was diverted for Covid19 intervention in fragrant violation of the law. Governor Adeleke has rehabilitated over 200 health centres across the state.

The governor who said the APC manifesto was packaged to deceive, distract and hoodwink the populace urged Osun voters to ignore the scheming of the opposition.

He highlighted his updated five point agenda to include (1) Integrated Youth, Women and Workers’ Welfare and Empowerment; (2) Infrastructure Consolidation for Citizens’ Social and Economic Wellbeing; (3) Agro-Industrial Expansion for Human Development and Collective Prosperity.

Ejigbo (Osun): The leading House of Representatives aspirant for Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Dr. AMB Majeed Adewale Salami, popularly known as TRANSFORMER has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

The declaration was made on Friday in Ejigbo during a well-attended meeting of the Elder Caucus and party stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Majeed Adewale Salami used the opportunity to urge party leaders and members to intensify mobilization efforts ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

He emphasized the importance of securing victory for Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing key achievements of the current administration.

According to him, “Both local and national indicators strongly favor our dear Governor. Osun State emerged victorious in the 2024 and 2025 Primary Health Care Challenge, earning a $500,000 award and setting a benchmark for excellence in the delivery of Primary Healthcare services across Nigeria.”

He further highlighted strides made in workers’ welfare and economic empowerment. “This administration has delivered where APC administrations failed. Pensioners are receiving their entitlements, and traders now have improved access to loans.

”While we are confident of victory, we must not relent; we must continue to canvass and mobilize support for our party,” he added.

In his remarks, the PDP/ACCORD Chairman in Ejigbo, Alhaji Moshood Salaudeen, commended Dr. Majeed Adewale Salami for his consistent support for the party and his contributions to its growth at the grassroots level.

He expressed satisfaction that sons of Ejigbo are stepping forward to represent the constituency at the national level.

Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Alhaji Musibau Alawe (popularly known as Apata), dismissed speculations about any third-term agenda, describing such claims as unfounded and unacceptable. He reaffirmed Ejigbo’s stance against any attempt at political marginalization.

Similarly, a former Senatorial Women Leader, Alhaja Bola, echoed this position, firmly rejecting any notion of a third-term bid.

The meeting ended with a unanimous resolution by stakeholders that the 2027 House of Representatives ticket for the E4 Federal Constituency should be zoned to Ejigbo.

The declaration event was witnessed by prominent party leaders, members of the Elder Caucus, and other key stakeholders across Ejigbo.

Performance Over Noise: Why Governor Ademola Adeleke Deserves Continuity

    By Team Akogun

In Osun State today, leadership is no longer about empty rhetoric or rehearsed grammar—it is about visible results, measurable impact, and a government that truly understands the needs of its people.

That is exactly what Governor Ademola Adeleke has brought to the table.
In just three years, the so-called “dancing governor” has redefined governance with action. Roads that once caused pain and loss of lives have been dualized. Critical infrastructure projects, including multiple flyovers, are no longer promises—they are realities shaping the future of Osun.

Beyond infrastructure, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated uncommon compassion and responsibility.

Pensioners who were abandoned for years are now paid as at when due. Over 30 months of half salaries owed by the previous administration have been cleared, restoring dignity to workers and hope to families across the state.

At a time when many governments are struggling to implement wage improvements, Adeleke took a bold step—raising the minimum wage to ₦75,000. This is not just policy; it is leadership that prioritizes the welfare of its people.

What makes this administration stand out is not just the projects, but the mindset. Governance under Adeleke is driven by practical intelligence—the ability to identify problems and deliver solutions. The completion of abandoned projects like the Ona-Baba-Ona Ring Road is a clear example. What was once a death trap has been transformed into a functional, life-saving infrastructure.

While some political actors continue to rely on propaganda and distractions, the people of Osun are wiser. They can see the difference between those who speak and those who act, between those who promise and those who deliver.

Attempts to destabilize a performing government through financial and political tactics have failed, because the people remain firmly behind a leader who has shown sincerity, capacity, and results.

The truth is simple: Osun State is moving forward, and Governor Ademola Adeleke is leading that movement.

As the next election approaches, the choice before the people is clear—return to the past or continue on the path of progress.

For many, the answer is already settled.

Continuity is not just an option—it is a necessity.

Governor Adeleke Chides Osun APC, Says Federal Might is for Good Governance, Not Election Rigging

    –  Egbedun, Alabi, Oladipo, Bisi, Others Drum Support for Adeleke’s Re-election Bid

    By Iyiola Olalere

Oshogbo:    Governor Ademola Adeleke has chided the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for its condemnable threats to unleash federal might on Osun voters on August 15, warning that federal might is for Good governance, not election rigging.

Addressing leaders and ward officials of the enlarged Accord across the 332 wards in Osun state, the governor berated the Osun APC for dragging President Bola Tinubu’s names in mud through its constant vow to deploy federal institutions to rig forthcoming elections.

Gov. Adeleke clarified that Mr President as a democrat is not involved in such brazen anti-democratic boasts, a statement by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the State Governor disclosed.

“The President is using federal power to deliver on good governance like the ongoing reconstruction of Ibadan-Ilesa road, the loan programmes for students, the pledge to institute state police among others, noting that neither the president nor the top leaders around him supports threats by the Osun APC to disrupt upcoming Osun polls.

“I task Osun APC to stop denigrating the names of Mr President and the Federal Government. Instead of supporting Mr President and showing the world that the number one citizen is a democrat in words and actions, Osun APC’s campaign slogans have been all the way anti-people and anti-democracy.

“Osun people are passionate about free and fair elections. Our people are insistent on their votes deciding who wins, who governs them. Our duty as candidates is to market our manifestoes and seek their votes. Only electoral bandits boast of rigging in a democracy”, the governor told the party chiefs and leaders.

“I call on Osun people to sustain and heighten their preparedness for August 15. Your votes will determine the winners. No force can override the people and God. Ignore those threatening you with federal power. They don’t have the support of Mr President”, the governor noted.

The main speaker at the event, Rt Hon Lasun Yusuf charged the leaders to be on electoral war footing through house to house mobilisation and defence of votes and voting processes, declaring that the people own the power and their votes must count.

Chairman of Elders’ Forum, Senator Olu Alabi called on elders across the local governments to launch out on electoral preparations to deliver their areas for Accord and ensure the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Chairman of Imole Movement, Prof. Wale Oladipo and the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sunday Bisi reaffirmed the endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke by the PDP, directing that PDP structures across the state should work and deliver votes for Governor Adeleke.

House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun who was accompanied by members of the Osun State House of Assembly urged leaders at the meeting to target over two million membership registration for the Accord, vowing that the governor will be overwhelmingly re-elected come August 15th.

  • OPINION: Why Ede Still Stands With Adeleke

OPINION: Why Ede Still Stands With Adeleke

    By Waliu Adetokun

The recent appointment of the former speaker of Osun state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello has sparked conversations in political circles across Osun State. In a political environment where every development is often interpreted through a political viewpoint, some have suggested that the appointment could alter the political dynamics within Ede.

However, a closer look at the mood within the town suggests otherwise.

Ede remains firmly united in its support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, whose leadership continues to command significant goodwill among many residents.

Ede has long been recognized as a politically oriented community. Its people are not strangers to political strategies, alignments, or attempts to influence public perception.

Because of this awareness, many residents tend to assess political developments not by speculation but by their real impact on governance and community development.

This explains why the suggestion that Adejare Bello’s appointment could divide Ede has not gained meaningful ground among the people.Political appointments may carry symbolic value, but they rarely determine the collective political direction of a community that already has a clear understanding of its interest.A common Yoruba expression captures this sentiment, “Omo wa gba feeder appointment.”

In essence, the saying reflects the belief that while individuals may receive appointments, the broader political conviction of the community remains guided by its own collective judgement. For many in Ede, the conversation is less about political maneuvering and more about governance.

Since assuming office, Governor Adeleke has pursued policies ,aimed at infrastructure renewal, improved welfare for workers, and development initiatives across Osun State.

These efforts have helped strengthen the relationship between and the administration and grassroots communities.

In politics, performance often speaks louder than strategy.Where people see tangible improvements in governance and leadership that appears accessible, loyalty tends to follow naturally. This reality continues to shape public sentiment in Ede.It is also important to recognize that communities like Ede rarely respond positively to attempts at political division.

Historically, the town has demonstrated a tendency to rally around leadership it believes is working in the interest of the people. As the 2026 governoship election approaches, political actors will undoubtedly continue to test different strategies to win public support.

Yet the ultimate decision will rest with the electorate, whose judgement is often influenced by their lived experiences under a particular administration. For many residents of Ede, those experiences under Governor Adeleke have created a sense of confidence in the direction of governance in Osun State.

Whether through public discourse or eventually through the ballot, the people of Ede are expected to make their position clear. If current sentiments are any indication, the town’s message may well centre on continuity of governance, continuity of development, and continuity of leadership they believe has remained connected to the grassroots. As always a democracy, the final verdict will come from the people.

  • People’s Votes Must Count in August 2026 – Governor Adeleke

People’s Votes Must Count in August 2026 – Governor Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has warned that vote of the people must count in August 15th governorship election in Osun State saying that is the only way to protect the Nigerian democratic system.

Governor Adeleke gave this charge while hosting members of the Public Accounts Committee of the House of Representatives in his office, a statement by Mal. Olawale Rasheed, Spokesman to the Governor has disclosed.

Governor Adeleke, while welcoming the lawmakers, led by their Chairman, Hon. Bamidele Salam, urged Nigerians to learn from history, stressing the importance of free and fair elections as a foundation for the sustenance of democracy. “Credible election is not optional but a compulsory process to safeguard the democratic system,” the Governor noted.

“For us in Osun State, August 15 is a critical phase for national democratic evolution. As the last major election before the general elections of 2027, Osun is in the eyes of the nation and the world. We, therefore, must get it right by enforcing free and fair polls.”

The Governor used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of his administration, saying delivery of good governance serves as the watchwords of his administration. “We have completed several projects abandoned by the previous governments while we initiated and completed several new ones. We are paying billions of naira of inherited half salaries and pension debt which the previous administration refused to touch. Our government initiated and implemented several policies and projects in health, education, sports, ICT, cooperative empowerment, agriculture, infrastructure, financial inclusion, economy, and business, among others. We received honours and awards in programmes and competitions organised even by several federal agencies.” Governor Adeleke declared.

Earlier in his remarks on behalf of the committee, Deputy Chairman, Hon. Jeremiah Umar, appreciated the Governor for turning Osun into a giant construction site. He wondered how the Governor was able to do so much for the people in barely three years with records that surpassed the achievements of his predecessors.

While recommending the Governor for awards in good governance, the Deputy Chairman of Public Accounts of the House of Representatives lauded the transformation of the state’s economy through tax harmonization, increase in IGR, workers’ welfare, and revitalisation of the healthcare system.

“When we were coming, we saw flyovers in different places in Osogbo and other towns. Opposite the State Government Secretariat, we saw a dual carriageway being constructed and other projects. In fact, you have turned the state into a giant construction site. This could not have been done other than by a man that has people at heart.”

“When we interrogated residents of the state about the dancing Governor, we were told that Your Excellency has renovated over 200 primary health centres across the state.”

“In terms of education, we realised that the two state universities are making waves, especially the University of Ilesa that you established, which has recorded over 100 courses accreditation, while UNIOSUN also got full final accreditation to graduate medical doctors, a feat that can only be attained by Imole.” concluded the Committee’s Deputy Chairman.
