The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP Mamman Giwa, has ordered strategic deployment of personnel, intelligence and operational assets across the state for a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Giwa gave the directive in a statement issued on his behalf by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Wednesday in Enugu.

The commissioner also ordered intensified patrols and enhanced security presence at prayer grounds, recreational centres and other public places.

He directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical Units to ensure effective supervision of deployments and operations, while strengthening collaboration with other security agencies throughout the period.

The state police boss felicitated with Muslim faithful in the state on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

He commended their prayers and urged them to sustain the values of peace, tolerance, and sacrifice that define the season.

“I wish all our Muslim faithful a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, and urge residents to remain law-abiding and to promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via 08032003702, 08086671202, 112, 09134666668, or 09134448093.”
