As political activities ahead of the 2027 general election continue to gather momentum, Ezekiel Agbomojo, a political observer and public affairs commentator from Ogbomoso North Local Government Area of Oyo State, has expressed confidence that Hon. Olusegun Dokun Odebunmi, popularly known as Bunvic, stands a strong chance of reclaiming the Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Agbomojo, who emphasized that he is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said his opinion is based on his personal assessment of the political situation and the feedback he has consistently received from residents, community leaders, and stakeholders across Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency.
According to him, the current political atmosphere in the constituency favours Bunvic more than any other aspirant because of his experience, grassroots acceptance, and the goodwill he has built over the years.

Speaking on the political landscape in Oyo State, Agbomojo described Bunvic as an experienced grassroots politician whose accessibility, humility, and long-standing relationship with the people distinguish him from other contenders.
He noted that Bunvic’s emergence through the APC primary election has further strengthened his political profile, adding that his previous tenure in the House of Representatives provided him with valuable legislative experience and a deeper understanding of the developmental needs of the constituency.
According to Agbomojo, one of Bunvic’s greatest political advantages is his cordial relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He said he believes such a relationship could attract more federal projects, appointments, and developmental opportunities to Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency if Bunvic is elected.
Agbomojo also commended Yeyeluwa Toyin Odebunmi, wife of the APC candidate, describing her as a compassionate woman whose humanitarian activities have continued to earn public admiration.
He said her outreach programmes have extended beyond Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency, reaching women, youths, students, and other vulnerable groups in various communities. According to him, her continuous engagement with the people has complemented her husband’s political efforts and further strengthened his acceptance among the electorate.
He further noted that the renewed unity within the APC is another factor working in Bunvic’s favour. Agbomojo pointed to the cordial relationship between Bunvic and respected party leaders, including Senator Ayo Adeseun, as well as the emergence of the APC Deputy Governorship candidate from Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency, describing both developments as positive signs for the party ahead of the 2027 election.
Describing Bunvic as one of the most sociable and generous politicians in the Ogbomoso zone, Agbomojo said the former lawmaker has remained accessible to the people and has consistently demonstrated a willingness to support individuals and communities whenever the opportunity arises.
According to him, from the discussions he has had with residents across Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency, there is a growing belief that Bunvic deserves another opportunity to represent the constituency at the Green Chamber.
“I am not speaking as an APC member because I am not one,” Agbomojo said. “This is simply my personal opinion based on what I have observed and the views I have heard from many people across Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa. From my interactions with residents, many believe Bunvic has the experience, the political connections, and the grassroots support needed to represent the constituency effectively once again.”
While expressing optimism about Bunvic’s chances, Agbomojo appealed to him not to relent in addressing youth unemployment.
“Hon. Bunvic has done well in supporting young people through different empowerment initiatives, and I acknowledge those efforts. However, I want him to place even greater emphasis on employment generation because many of our youths are still searching for jobs. Creating sustainable employment opportunities should remain one of his major priorities if elected,” he said.»
Agbomojo also called for increased federal government presence in Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency through the establishment of more federal institutions, infrastructure projects, and programmes capable of creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.
He stressed that attracting federal projects would not only improve the standard of living of residents but also open up more opportunities for young people and local businesses.

“I strongly believe Hon. Bunvic has what it takes to attract meaningful federal projects because of his experience, his relationships within government, and his understanding of the needs of our people. What Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency needs now is greater federal presence, improved infrastructure, and more employment opportunities for our youths,” Agbomojo added.»
He concluded by reiterating that his views remain entirely personal and are based on his assessment of the political mood in the constituency.
According to him, while the final decision rests with the electorate, the level of goodwill, popularity, and support he has observed suggests that Bunvic currently enjoys a political advantage ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election. He urged all political actors to conduct their campaigns peacefully and focus on issues that will promote the development and prosperity of Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency. If you intend to publish this in a newspaper or online news platform, I can also rewrite it in a more authoritative newspaper style (similar to Punch, Tribune, or The Nation) while still keeping every fact and quotation unchanged.
