Ibadan: NAFDAC has destroyed 55 billion naira worth of unregistered, fake, banned, adulterated, and expired regulated products during a general destruction exercise in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The items included damaged and expired products voluntarily submitted to the Agency by over 70 compliant companies, non-governmental organisations, and trade unions.

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, stated that the destruction forms part of the Agency’s sustained efforts to prevent the re-entry of dangerous and unwholesome products into circulation.
She called on religious and community leaders, health practitioners, and all Nigerians to educate their families and communities on the dangers of patronising quacks and unauthorised medicine and food dealers.

She emphasised that collective action is essential to safeguarding public health and safety. (Flowerbudnews)
