UI Honours Dr. Kazeem Adeduntan with Honorary Doctor of Science Degree

The University of Ibadan (UI) has conferred an honorary Doctor of Science degree on its distinguished alumnus, Dr. Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, during its 77th Foundation Ceremony.
Dr. Adeduntan, who graduated from UI in 1992 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, and previously named a Most Distinguished Alumnus of the university in 2020, was recognised for his contributions to the banking, finance, and commerce sectors.
Adeduntan spent nine years as Managing Director and CEO of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, and during his tenure, he was able to increase customer accounts from 10 million to over 40 million.
He has continued public and private engagements since leaving office in April 2024.
He was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan, in March 2025, by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
In his response, Dr. Adeduntan described the recognition as deeply meaningful, stating that the university shaped his professional path and personal development.
He viewed the honor as one shared with the wider UI community.
