Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Nigeria’s Livestock Sector is set for a major boost as three formidable local and international economic group began talks on establishment of a 200-hectare livestock hub in Nigeria.

FLOWERBUDNEWS reports that the three economic empowerment organisations, the International Collaboration, Business Innovation with Technology and Science (ICBITS), EL-Trusty Multilinks Ltd and ALMUNTAQIM GROUP,have met to discuss details of the objectives and other formalities for a successful take-off and execution of the project.

Prof. Day Bruce, who presided over the meeting, led the ICBITS team, while,Mr Aminu Ibrahim, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EL-Trusty Multilinks Ltd, and Mallam Abdulakeem Ibrahim, the Director General (DG) of ALMUNTAQIM EMPOWERMENT, were all present at the meeting.

A report of the initial meeting of the tripartite made available to FLOWERBUDNEWS stated that the establishment of the livestock hub, would create employment opportunities for over 3,000 youths in line with the Federal Government job creation goals.

Mr Aminu Ibrahim, the MD/CEO of EL-Trusty Multilinks Ltd,, a seasoned livestock farming expert based in Niger State, disclosed that a deal had been signed with the Niger State Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries for the location of the planned livestock hub in Niger state.

Mr. Ibrahim said that 200 hectares of land were already granted to his company along with full support of the state government to turn the state into the planned livestock hub for Nigeria.

The planned livestock hub would also house a centre fir training of youths to become livestock entrepreneurs and reduce crime levels among youths n the state through the economic empowerment, the report indicated.

The Partners also acknowledged that the
Livestock hub development would boost the state’s econom, noting that the Potential synergies between partners could achieve the sale of 60,000 live goats in a year.

The project would also focus on Promoting skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development.

The partners agreed on immediate development of an implementation roadmap, engaging with relevant stakeholders and the establishment of a monitoring and evaluation framework.
