A pressure group within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State, Professionals in PDP, have charged Governors and leaders in the party to deal with the excesses of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The group in a statement issued by its Chairman, Sam Segun-Progress and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Tuesday, called on the party leaders to take “decisive action” against the Minister.
It reads, “The recent display of arrogance and uninformed outburst of the Minister of the FCT is not only shameless but demeaning and unbecoming of a supposed leader.
“Is Wike above the law or the party? What makes him special is that he will be challenging the party leadership with no responses and daring us to act.
“We must ask the national executives what makes Wike special. Why can’t they call him to order if he is too big to be disciplined? We ask our Governors’ why are they afraid of Wike. Why are they quiet over his affronts?
The group also challenged the National working Committee of the party to get out of their cowardice and act before the table would turn against them.
“If the National Working Committee is incompetent and afraid of Wike, some of us don’t see him as special than other party members and we will not hesitate to mobilize to the National Secretary to reset the NWC.
“It is time to stop elements who will not allow us to perform our role as a credible opposition to make the current lacklustre administration wake up to her responsibilities”, the statement added.
