FEDPA Rector Champions Infrastructure, Innovation, and Employability at Historic Convocation

At the maiden combined convocation ceremony of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), highlighted key milestones in the institution’s academic progress, skills-driven training model, and critical infrastructure development.

He disclosed that construction of the Idi-Araba access road to the permanent site had commenced with the support of Zacch Adedeji, describing the development as a significant step toward improving access to the Polytechnic’s permanent campus.

The Rector further revealed that the Polytechnic currently runs 13 National Diploma programmes across five academic schools, with a strong focus on technical, vocational, and entrepreneurship education.

According to him, the graduands received vocational training certificates alongside their academic qualifications to enhance employability and promote self-reliance.

Engr. Abdul-Hameed disclosed that a total of 325 students graduated during the combined convocation ceremony, comprising 138 graduates from the 2023/2024 academic session and 187 graduates from the 2024/2025 academic session.

He announced Miss Taiwo Ibukunoluwa Arinola and Mr. Olapese Quadri Ayofe as the overall best graduating students for the respective sessions.

As part of the convocation ceremony, fellowship awards were conferred on notable Nigerians: the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Zacch Adedeji; and the Chairman of Spectrum Engineering Limited, Engr. Dr. Abubakar Isa.
