NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye said in a public alert that the registration certificate of the products had been withdrawn, suspended or cancelled.

”They are therefore, no longer permitted for manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use within Nigeria,” the NAFDAC Boss warned.

In the public notice, Prof. Adeyeye stated:
This is to inform the General Public that the following products are approved for withdrawal, suspension and cancellation by NAFDAC.

They are therefore, no longer permitted for manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use within Nigeria.

Please note that:
1. The Certificate of Registration of a product is said to be withdrawn when the use of the Certificate of Registration of that product is discontinued upon request of the Market Authorisation Holder.

She counselled the public to ”avoid distribution, sale, administration, and use of the products. All medical products must be obtained from genuinely authorized/licensed suppliers.

”The products’ authenticity and physical condition should be carefully checked,” She stressed.

Orof. Adeyeye also urged: ”If you have any of the products mentioned above, please stop selling or using them immediately and submit your stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

” If you or someone you know has used any of these products and experienced adverse reactions or events, we strongly recommend seeking immediate medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional,” She added.

Prof. Adeyeye advised Healthcare professionals and consumers to ”report any suspicion of substandard and falsified medicines to the nearest NAFDAC office, NAFDAC on 0800-162-3322, or via email: sf.alert@nafdac.gov.ng”.
