Fed Poly Ayede Rector Bags Prestigious CESVO Award for Integrity, Fiscal Discipline

Ayede (Oyo State) Flowerbudnews: A Lokoja-based NGO, the Centre for Ethics and Self-Value Orientation (CESVO) has honoured the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed for his fiscal discipline and prudent funds management.
FLOWERBUDNEWS reports that the prestigious award was bestowed on Dr. AbdulHameed on Tuesday at the Polytechnic’s TETFund Auditorium by the Executive Director of CESVO, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu.
Speaking during the conferment, Prince Musa Yakubu commended the Rector for his outstanding achievements since assuming office.
He noted that the Polytechnic, under Dr. AbdulHameed leadership, had been nominated among the top 10 most ethically responsible, corruption-free, and examination ethics-compliant tertiary federal polytechnics in Nigeria.
The Federal Polytechnic, Ayede was found to have performed credibly well during the period under review, the CESVO Executive Director declared.
Prince Yakubu stated that the nomination was a testament to the institution’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics in academia.
He further disclosed that, as part of the honor, CESVO would train 100 staff members and 100 students of the institution on ethics and values, after which certificates would be issued to the participants.
In his response, Dr. Abdul-Hameed expressed surprise at the recognition, noting that he had no prior relationship with CESVO.
He described the award as proof that people are silently monitoring public office holders and urged staff to remain diligent in their duties.
“The fact that people are watching us should motivate everyone to do more. For me, this recognition is a challenge that the good can never be better than the best,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the institution, Deputy Rector (Academic), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo, thanked CESVO for the recognition and assured that the Polytechnic would not relent in its efforts to rank among the best in Nigeria.
Another highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards and certificates to the Rector, the institution, and distinguished individuals.
Other recipients of awards were, the Deputy Rector (Academic), Mr. Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo; Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola, represented by Deputy Registrar, Mr. Gafari Kolapo Olatinwo; Bursar, Alhaja Rasheedat Oladepo; Polytechnic Librarian,Dr. Samuel Oguniyi, represented by Dr. Halimot Amuda; Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Musbau Afolabi; Director of Procurements, Dr. Ajao Lateef Kolapo; Director of the Centre for Information, Communication, and Public Relations (CICPR), Mr. Sunday Adepoju; and Mr. Samson Oladejo of CICPR.
