Calabar (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The cross state Governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu has charged the 21 Muslim pilgrims from his state to be good ambassador of the state and Nigeria while performing their Hajj rites in the holy cities of meccah and medina
Governor Otu gave the charge on Thursday in Calabar during his farewell message to the Muslim pilgrims, members and officials before their departure from BOGOBIRI central mosque Calabar to Port .Hacourt International airport, Rivers state.
The governor who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser on political Affairs, Hon. Dunamis Archibong, urged the pilgrims to pray for the nation and follow the rules and regulations of Hajj and holy land.
Hon.Dunamis Archibong urged the team to avoid anything that could jeopardize the image of the state in the holy land.
Other representatives of the state governor at the event are special adviser to the governor on religious matters Apostle Frank Umoh and the the IMAMs of Various mosque in Calabar.
The Sarki Hausawa in BOGOBIRI, Calabar Alhaji Garba Lawal and the Sarki from Nasarawa Bacoco of Calabar Municipality were also at the farewell occasion for this year Muslim pilgrims from cross river state.
Earlier in his address,chairman of the cross river state pilgrims welfare board, IMAM Abdulkabeer Olowolayemo inform the Muslim community of Cross River state that a total number of 21 Muslim intending pilgrims from the state has set to perform this year 2025 Hajj rites as 2 officials were among them.
He urged the Islamic clerics at the event to pray for the success of the team during the religious exercise in the holy land.
