A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Hycienth Ngwu, has urged for more defection of other party stalwarts to APC and support President Bola Tinubu push to fix structurally defective economy.

Ngwu, who is the former South-East Publicity Secretary of the APC, made the call on Friday in Enugu while reacting to the recent bumper harvest of other political stalwarts defecting to the ruling APC nationwide.

The APC Chieftain noted that all the defections into the ruling party (APC) are the result of President Tinubu’s sterling qualities and clear pursuit of innovative ideas to get the country’s economy outside the woods.

According to him, managing a structurally defective economy requires a pragmatic and balanced leader. I thank God we have that leader in President Bola Tinubu.

“Our economy has been structurally defective, and past leaders have been using the same solution to fix it. But like the saying goes, one can not repeat the same thing now and then and expect a different outcome.

“President Tinubu, being a pragmatic leader, changed the solution from day one of his presidency, and today, a different outcome is reshaping our economy for clear minded people to see.

“Nigerians should see the current hardships as the period of transitional transformation from crude to refined product. It is always darkest before dawn.

“Let us pray for the sustenance of the strategic policies he has laid out and, most importantly, for the implementation of the policies to the latter,” he said.

Ngwu also appealed that for the sake of the upcoming generations, “let us push partisan politics aside and support President Tinubu for the second tenure.”

“To achieve this, other political leaders are enjoined to defect to APC for President Tinubus seamless election for the second tenure. Alternatively, one may choose to still support him from ones opposition party.

“The upcoming generations will not forgive the present political class for any disruption of his second tenure.

“This is the opportuned time for the South-East to change strategy and key into Nigerian mainstream politics,” he added.
