The Consultant lauded the Federal Government for establishing the Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, describing it as a “transformative gift” to the people of Ogbomoso and its surrounding communities.
In an Easter Reflection chat with SOLIDSTARNEWS, Dr. Olalere emphasised the institution’s positive impact on grassroots development, local economies, and regional integration.
“The siting of the Polytechnic in Ayede is a blessing that has opened up our region. Small businesses are growing, new housing is springing up, and our rural areas are being reconnected to the national grid of development,” he noted.
He particularly praised the leadership of the institution’s Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdul-Hameed, for steering the Polytechnic towards early success, particularly its participation in national academic and sporting competitions.
“That our Polytechnic can now compete on a national level within just a few years of its establishment is proof of the Rector’s dedication. We must all rally behind him and his team,” Olalere said.
Dr. Olalere also commended traditional rulers for their unwavering support of the Polytechnic.
He acknowledged the Aresa of Iresa-Apa, Oba Moses Olayiwola (JP), for promoting peace and community development, and extended heartfelt appreciation to the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, for his progressive leadership in driving academic and infrastructural growth across Ogbomoso land.
“The Soun has been a father figure and a unifying force. His wisdom and support have been instrumental in the Polytechnic’s early progress,” he added.
In a passionate appeal, Dr. Olalere called on members of the National Assembly from Oyo State to make the Federal Polytechnic Ayede a strategic priority in future budgets and legislative initiatives.
“This institution must move to its permanent site. I urge our senators and representatives—let this Polytechnic be a shared constituency legacy. With your budgetary input and constituency projects, we can make that dream a reality,” he said.
He further encouraged all Ogbomoso indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora, to embrace the Polytechnic as a collective project that deserves unity, support, and investment.
“We must not allow division or indifference. The Polytechnic belongs to all of us. Let us work together to build it into a center of excellence,” he urged.
Dr. Olalere concluded his address with warm Easter greetings, praying that the resurrection of Christ would inspire a season of spiritual, economic, and national revival—especially in the education sector.
