Calabar (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Dr. (Mrs) CHUKWUKA ICHA has been appointed as the new Registrar of the University of Calabar, Flowerbudnews reports.
Dr. Icha’s appointment followed the retirement of Mr. GABRIEL EGBE whose five year his five tenure as Registrar ended in November last year.

Flowerbudnews reports that Dr Icha has been acting as Registrar untill her formal appointment as the substantive Registrar by the Governing Council of the University.
She got the appointment after an interview of many candidates that applied to be UNICAL registrar, Flowerbudnews learnt.
Her emergence is the first appointment of a principal officer for the University of calabar by new Governing Council appointed last year by President Bola Tinubu with Retired DIG UDOM Ekpo UDOM as Chairman.

Dr. Icha, who apparently enjoys goodwill among the University community has been hailed in comments on the internet following announcement of her appointment
A member of the UNICAL community rejoiced with Dr. Icha saying; ‘Let’s celebrate our brand new Registrar with a firm determination to succeed.
