Nigerians Protest Against Hunger in Oshogbo as Traditional Ruler Urges Tinubu to End Hardship

Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): As Nigeria celebrate 64 independence anniversary, eminent personalities have called on President Bola Tinubu led federal government to end the hardship that is ravaging the masses in the country.

Speaking with FLOWERBUDNEWS on Monday, Oba sheikh AbdulRasheed Badmus Omotosho, The Alagbeye of Agbeye Land in Osun state said; “it is gratifying to note that 64 years of Nigeria’s independence, we have bellied the skeptism on our ability to govern ourselves.

“Today, we have shown to the whole world that we are not only able to govern ourselves, but are able to understand our differences, respect each other’s value and unite towards developing our country despite our device culture.

“We suffered serious set back in the economic, social and developmental areas which no doubt drew us back in the committee of developed nations,” the Oba stated.

Also speaking to Flowerbudnews, a medical practitioner, Dr Ibrahim Ademola observed that ”the independence is more like bondage for the generality of people, as the country is moving gradually into a helpless state because of the kind of the people that have emerged as country’s leaders.”

In his own comment the chief Imam of Isan Ekiti, in Ekiti state, said: “we are still seeing things that we can’t be proud of, despite being sixtyfour years old. We have been praying but it doesn’t look like this country is getting better.

”There is hunger in the land, a bag of rice is not affordable anymore. At 64, a fertile land has failed in agriculture and it’s 64 years of sadness without achievements and failures,” he stated.

Comrade Sarafadeen Adefemi (Emirates) said: I have not seen anything special in Nigeria at 64 because there is no serious improvement in terms of what government needs to do.”

He Added that: “In terms of human capital, everything is on standstill, in terms of wellbeing, it’s something else’:.

Ustaz Abdul Razaq Badmus emphatically said: ”our varous sectors are not doing well include infrastructure. We don’t have anything to celebrate at 64. It is a period to evaluate what we have done so far. It’s a time for sober reflection.

Also demonstrating youths took to the streets to express their grievances regarding the current economic hardship facing the country.

The protesters, gathered at the popular Nelson Mandela Park at Old Garage and march through oke- fia, Dada estate, Dele yes sir to Oba Adesoji Aderemi towards ogo Oluwa area and ending at Olaiya junctions.

Various solidarity songs were sang to press home their demands, while members of security agencies stood by to ensure that there was no breakdown of law and order.(Flowerbudnews)
