Osun State Govt. Completes 90 – Kilometres of Roads, 70 Kilometres Ongoing in Less than two years – Hon. B. T. Salam

Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Osun State Government has constructed over 90 kilometres of roads in different parts of the state in less than two years of the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Bashir Tokunbo Salami, who disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Flowerbudnews on Monday in Oshogbo, said that the construction of another set of over 70 kilometres of roads were currently ongoing across the state

Hon. Salami said that Gov. Adeleke has already directed that the ongoing construction of the over 70 kilometres should be completed as part of achievements to mark the second year of his administration in November.

The Commissioner said that in addition, a span of 1.5 kilometres of roads were being constructed in the 30 local government areas of the state.

Three major inter-city roads were also currently being constructed in addition to the above road projects, Hon. Salami disclosed, adding: the inter-city roads are: Otan Ayegbaju – Iresi; Erin – Egbedi – Ede and Telemu – Ilemurin – Ogbaagba.

He said that Gov. Demola Adeleke’s administration has also embarked on some MEGA Road Projects to ease traffic and make vehicular movements easier, enjoyable and stressless in Oshogbo and some other major towns of the state.

The MEGA Projects are the Duslisation, with a flyover bridge of Alekuwodo – Okefia road; the construction of flyover bridge at Lameco in Oshogbo, and the Old garage – Okefia – Lameco Dua carriage way, and in Ilesha, Ereja to Akure – Ife Road dualisation, and Flyover bridge at Lagere Mayfair area of Ile-Ife, Hon.B.T. Salam disclosed.

The Commissioner said that apart from the major projects above, Gov. Adeleke has directed prompt intervention for urgent reconstruction in any part of the state whenever a road or bridge damage occurred, or following request by such community for emergency intervention.

Hon. Salami said that the government had also promptly undertook reconstruction or repair of failed culverts in Shasha, Oke-Oniti and Oke Baale in Oshogbo where a section of the road was divided into two, making passage impossible.

He said that such intervention projects were also executed in Ede and in Ode-Omu areas of the state.

Hon. Salami attributed the massive road construction projects being executed across the state to ”the fear of GOD with which Gov. Adeleke is governing the state,” explaining that the Governor was ensuring that the resources of the state were being fully utilized for the people’s benefit.

”You know, His Excellency has no Godfather to be paying ”Return to” with Osun state resources and money” and is totally committed to developing the state,’ Hon. Salami stated. (Flowerbudnews)
