Fed. Poly Goes Tough Over Vandalisation, Indiscipline; Expels 27 Students, Suspends 8

Ede (Osun) Flowerbudnews: The Federal Polytechnic, Ede. Osun state has expelled 27 students over the Thursday, May 9 students rampage resulting in vandalisation of vehicles and stoning of people at the Institution’s senior staff club.

Eight students were also suspended for two academic sessions, while two former students Union leaders were banned from entering the Polytechnic’s two campuses ‘:with immediate effect,”.

This was disclosed in a statement by Sola Lawal the Polythechnic’s Protocol, Media and Public Relations Officer, a copy of which was made available to Flowerbudnews in Ede.

He disclosed that the 27 expelled students comprised HND 1 and 2 students, while those suspended were all HND 2 students.

Lawal recalled that ‘:’the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede Osun State constituted an investigation committee to unravel the miseries surrounding the Student’s crisis/rampage of Thursday May 9th, 2024 leading to the stoning of people at the senior staff club

The Polytechnic’s Spokesman noted that the ”unprovoked attitude led to the vandalization of individual and institution’s properties.’:

He said that the ”unwarranted action negates the motto of the great citadel which is “KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND CHARACTER which the institution is known for”.

Lawal said that the disciplinary measures were arrived at ”after a painstaking and thorough investigation”. (Flowerbudnews)
