Abuja (Flowerbudnews):  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has concluded plans to engage its stakeholders in a Road Walk to commemorate the 2024 African Union Anti-corruption Day with the theme: Effective Whistleblowing for Corruption-Free Nigeria”.

Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ola Olukoyede, said that  ”the Road Walk is aimed at drawing attention to the importance of the whistle-blowing policy as a core component of Nigerian corruption prevention strategy.”

This was disclosed in a statement by Dele Oyewale, the EFCC Spokesman, a copy of which was made available to Flowerbudnews.

It would be recalled that the Whistle-blowing Policy in Nigeria, was launched on December 21, 2016 by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Finance.

”It is an anti-corruption initiative that encourages people to voluntarily disclose information about fraud, bribery, looted government funds, financial misconduct, abuse,  embezzlement of government assets and any other form of corruption or theft to the government,” Oyewale said in the statement.

The Road Walk is scheduled to hold between 07:00 am – 08.00 am on Thursday July 11, 2024 commencing from the EFCC Abuja Zonal Command, 5, Fomella Street Wuse II, Abuja to Unity Fountain, by Transcorp Hilton. (Flowerbudnews)
