The State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Enugu state, Mrs Christiana Salmwang has emphasized the need for proper reception of Prospective Corps Members as they arrive the camp.
Salmwang gave the charge during the first camp officials’ meeting for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 orientation course at the NYSC orientation camp, Awgu, on Friday.
She urged the camp officials to speak to the Prospective Corps Members with kindness, calmness and as well show them empathy while receiving them at the orientation camp.
She stressed that all the rules guiding the orientation course must be adhered to.
“All camp officials must be present on camp throughout the exercise, there should be no physical contact between officials and corps members, and any form of rancor should be avoided,” she added.
Speaking on the dress code of corps members, the coordinator said that the NYSC management had frowned at the deteriorating standard of the dressing of corps members.
She implored both NYSC staff and collaborating agencies to help ensure that the corps members are properly dressed at all times.
She reiterated that the COVID-19 protocols of handwashing and the use of nose masks were going to be observed and the testing by the NCDC would be optional and not compulsory.
Salmwang solicited the support of all camp officials to ensure a smooth and successful orientation exercise.
Also speaking, Mrs Benedith Nwaokeke, the Camp Director for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ stream 1 orientation exercise, said that the management had made it mandatory for all officials to be present at the morning mediation and the NHIA lecture.
She urged all the officials and corps members to always have their identity cards with them at all times, and be security conscious as well.
The meeting had in attendance, the Heads of collaborating agencies, the Resident Officer, Heads of Assignment, and other camp officials. (Flowerbudnews)
