A man has been arrested at Ward 5, Unit 17 in Ataoja, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, after he was found with an undisclosed amount of money and a fake Permanent Voter Card (PVC).

The Osun governorship rerun election has been characterised by heavy presence of security officials in various polling units.

Dominik Williams, a British High Commission official monitoring the rerun election, said he observed the heavy presence of security agents at Ward 07, Polling Unit 012, Olode in Adererti village, Ife South LGA.

However, despite the heavy presence of security operatives, voters have trooped out en masse to cast their votes at Ward 5, Unit 7 in Ataoja, Osogbo.

Hours earlier, gunshots were heard close to the polling unit.
