NAFDAC Intensifies Sensitisation of Youths on Dangers of Drug Abuse in Rivers State

FLOWERBUDNEWS: NAFDAC anti-Drug abuse initiative, ”The NAFDAC–Youth Against Drug Abuse (YADA)” has been inaugurated at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) Abuloma in Rivers State.

Flowerbudnews recall that NAFDAC–Youth Against Drug Abuse (YADA) was initiated by the NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye as part of a series of new strategies for implementation of the sensitisation and public enlightenment mandate of the Agency.

Under the initiative, volunteer anti-drug abuse students club are.being established in schools across the country to enlighten the youths on the life-destructing dangers of drug abuse, a NAFDAC

Flowerbudnews learnt that the ultimate goal is to educate and enlighten youths in the club so that they become anti-drug abuse campaigners among their peers in and out of the schools.

The FGGC Abuloma chapter was officially inaugurated by a team led by Pharm. Tekena George, PSN–YPG National Chairman and Project Manager, NAFDAC–YADA, NAFDAC disclosed.

The team had engaging session with the SS1 students. with scores of them pledging proudly ”to become YADA peer champions and serve as worthy ambassadors”.

The students commended the vision of Prof. Adeyeye in making NAFDAC to take Mojisola, the lead in promoting drug-free living among their peers through peer-to-peer education, student action projects, and continuous advocacy.
