Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Nigeria’s Dr. Mujidat Shade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General and daughter of President Ahmed Tinubu has been commended by Nigerian artisans for her interest in the welfare of downtrodden handwork professionals in the country.
The commendation was given by the National President of the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Alhaji Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu, while speaking in an exclusive interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS on Wednesday in Abuja.
Alhaji Fasasi, who was full of praises for the Iyaloja-General, said that Alhaja Shade Tinubu -Ojo ”has been a pillar of support for BACSAAN for a long time.”
The BACSAAN national leader the Association’s respect and relationship with the Iyaloja-General has been mutually beneficial, explaining that his organisation was to mobilize its members across the country to support and campaign for President Tinubu before the 2023 Presidential election.
Alhaji Fasasi further commended Dr. Shade Tinubu-Ojo, saying; ”her doors are always open to us, and she is in the process of securing employment for some of our members as a gesture of her commitment to artisans ‘ economic empowerment.”
” We have submitted to her, a list of BACSAAN members who are competent handwork professionals, and we are hopeful that anytime from now, BAACSAN will hear from her.”. Alhaji Fasasi stated.
”Iyaloja General is doing her best already for us. and we just want her to put in more efforts and put in a word for BACSAAM before Mr President, so that we can have a Special Assistant to Mr President on Artisans Affairs,” the BACSAAN National President stressed.
He said that that his Association was already thinking of a highly befitting way to appreciate, celebrate and honour, Hajia Folashade Tinubu -Ojo for her care for Nigerian artisans, adding; ”we will, among other things, present an awzrd of recognition to her.”
”Iyaloja admired BACSAAN as an umbrella body for all Artisans in Nigeria to the extent that she agreed to be the Patroness of the Organisation,” Alhaji Fasasi said.
We requested her to solicit for the position of Special Adviser on Artisan Affairs from the President and empower our members through more economic and welfare packages”.
”We want Iyaloja in Collaboration with regulatory body like NSE and COREN to enhance training for artisans through BACSAAN which will issue certificate to participants and provide trainers for such programmes,” Alhaji Fasasi told FLOWERBUDNEWS.
