Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew, Director General, Presidential Economic Advisory Council and Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.(FIPC) has been honoured by Nigerian Artisans for his support for economic empowerment of the teeming artisans in the country.
Flowerbudnews reports that Prince Mathew was formally bestowed – AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE For Promoting Economic Empowerment for Nigerian Artisans through BACSAAN – at a ceremony held in his office during a courtesy visit by the leadership of BACSAAN led by its National President, Alhaji Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu.
BACSAAN, the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria, is the national umbrella body for all Artisans in the country.
Speaking during the investiture, Alh. Mohammed Jamiu lauded Prince Mathew for his positive disposition to the artisans, noting that with accessible political office holder like, him. the condition of artisans would reach the right quarters in the Presidency.
The BACSAAN Leader. who was accompanied by several National Officers of the Association, expressed the appreciation of BACSAAN and its teeming members for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s efforts to reach out to the downtrodden in the society through various economic empowerment and family poverty alleviation gestures.
”Please convey the assurance of our goodwill and support to Mr. President in his all-round efforts to improve the fortune of Nigerians through far-reaching economic reforms and initiatives,” Haj Mohammed Jamiu said.
He urged Prince Mathew to help Artisans follow up on BACSAAN request for the President to appoint a Special Adviser on Artisan Affairs to make the President’s efforts to better the lots of handwork professionals more impactful on artisans.
The BACSAAN leader disclosed that the Association’s members were as many as about 25; million across the country, who were in active practice of different trades and handworks who would do all that would be necessary to assist in the mobilisation and sensitisation of Nigerians to vote massively for President Tinubu in the next General Elections.
”Our members are made up of Capenters, Rewires, Mechanics, Electricians, Bricklayers, Masons,, Panel Beaters, Plumbers, Furniture Makers, Painters, Tilers, etc,” Haj Mohammed Jamiu disclosed.
He also urged the Director General to help facilitate BACSAAN to access some special grant reportedly domiciled in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by the Federal Government specifically for empowerment of Artisans.
Responding, Prince Mathew thanked the BACSAAN leadership and the teeming members across the country for the recognition and honour bestowed on him.
The Director General assured the Artisans of President Tinubu determination to improve the fortune of Nigerians through the several economic and social welfare policies and initiatives currently being implemented by the administration.
He also assured the Artisans that he would convey their requests and greetings to President Tinubu for necessary action. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)
