In a hitch-free election held at News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday, comrade Ogechi James returned as president of the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporation and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC ) for another four years.
James was voted overwhelmingly by the 59 delegates members out of which her votes was 48 votes accredited for the exercise on the strength of her selfless service to reposition the union in NAN.
In her acceptance speech,James thanked the members for the confidence reposed in her as she urged both old and new members to support her efforts by contributing their quota to making the union one of the best.
James stated that during her tenure, earlier in her presidential campaign, she had approached the Managing Director of NAN regarding training for delegates.
She promised that the management would eventually approve it, and the training would commence and it was done.
Specifically, she mentioned that conditions of service , she looks forward to achieving that in this second tenure.
President Ogechi.J.James won with 48 votes against Adedeji.S.Tomilayo 11 votes .
Returning as the Deputy President Chioma. E.Ezeakonobi as unopposed.
Samson.M. Agidi won 33 votes to become the vice president 1. beating Afamefune Ugwuwith 26 votes
Returning as the vice president 2 unopposed Dada .J.Gbenga
Efe.O.Ekpruke return as Secretary with 42 votes as former vice President, Oliver Tsokar lost with 17 votes .
Assistant Secretary, Adekoya .A. Olajumoke won 30 votes to defeat Isah . Wada with 29 votes.
Ugochukwu. J.Ugochi as the unopposed treasurer.
Ojo Aderonke won with 42 votes become the new Public relations officer ( PRO) as Nkeiru .S.Ifeanyichukwu stepped down for Ojo Aderonke .
Abraham Okpeh has 17 votes.
Board of Trustees (B.O.T)all returns back Nwagbara. Chiedozie had 45 votes , Jessica Dogo has 36 votes , Friday Okwori with 29 votes Nwaozuzu Augusta with 24 votes
Also the Exco on behalf of the Union presented awards to the following recipients:Senior union members; as Deputy Director Mrs Bola Jamgbadi, Engr Cyprian Udeagwua , Mrs Loretta Abua and Mr Aruya Adebayo.
