Oshogbo (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The enticing flyover bridge being built by the Osun state.government of Sen. Ademola Adeleke at Okefia has been fortified with a whopping 80 beams, indicating a very high strength and quality.
A FLOWERBUDNEWS Correspondent who visited the construction site reports that the beams had been successfully launched giving the emerging bridge a distinctively curved and captivating look.
Speaking in an interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS, Engr. Tosin Adebayo, the Project Manager of A’skorj Nig. Limited, the Company handling the bridge project, explained the crucial stability and strength functions of beams in bridge construction.
Engr. Adebayo said: ”beam is a main structural element of the bridge, it can also be call girder,” adding;
”Its main function is to carry the vehicular load spread on it from the deck surface and transfer it to the supports.”
Engr. Adebayo explained further that beam ”is a suspended member of the bridge, hence should be constructed with detailed attention to fundamentals principles of its design” for strength, stability and durability.
The Project Manager confirmed the launched beams were made of the highest and best quality possible in line with what is obtainable anywhere in the world.
Besides, he gave kudos to the supervising Engineers from the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, who he noted, effectively policed the construction work to make sure the highest quality and standard were achieved.
Several residents were seen admiring the unfolding beauty of the bridge, which experts said, had now reached a very high level completion level.
Workers of A’skorj Nigeria Limited, were seen working briskly on the erection of the bridge’s retaining wall, while others were seen working on the remaining earth works.
Commenting on the construction of the Okefia Bridge in an interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS at Okefia, a retired civil servant, Mr Bamidele Adedeji commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for the project, describing him as ”a lover of progress, and a lover of the people.”
