Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday at the Ondo state governorship rally reaffirmed its united front for the party amidst recent removal and counter-removal of national officials from the party.

Governor Adeleke who is the Chairman of the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council told the party faithful that the PDP is one strong family.

He said that leaders have met to ensure unity and respect for the party’s constitution, urging massive turnout to support the PDP candidate at the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

“Go out and cast your votes for Agboola. PDP remains one and the only alternative for a better today and tomorrow for Ondo people”, the Osun Governor asserted.

Governor Seyi Makinde who also re-echoed the message of unity within the PDP, said Ondo people should demonstrate love for good governance by voting the party’s candidate in the next polls.

According to Makinde, the PDP as a virile party remains the best choice for delivery of democratic dividends for the mass of Ondo and Nigerians in general.

The Chairman of the PDP Governors’s Forum and the Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Muhammed announced to the audience that there is no longer any faction within the PDP, calling on the public to see recent development as a sign of a strong and dynamic political party.

“There is no faction in the PDP. We are one. You can see how we are demonstrating love and unity. We are putting our house in order”, Governor Muhammed stated.

The acting Chairman of the party, Usman Damagun who spoke in Yoruba language, told the crowd “ebi npawa, iya nje wa, edibo fun egbe PDP”.

Former Ebonyi Governor, Sam Egwu in his address, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that democracy is not truncated in Nigeria by enforcing free and fair elections across the country.

Egwu, who said Tinubu is now the father of all, urged him to resist the temptation to capitalise on federal power within the electoral system, emphasising that democracy is best strengthened when people’s will is allowed to prevail.
