Troops of Sector 2 (Ebonyi) of the Joint Task-Force “Operation UDO KA” has conducted a raid on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) Camp located at Mgbalukwu in Inyimagu, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
The successful raid was carried out by the army troops in conjunction with personnel of Nigeria Police Force; Department of State Security and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps based on credible intelligence.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Enugu by Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, Spokesman of Operation UDO KA.
Unuakhalu said that the raid was conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
He said that during the operation, troops came in contact with the terrorist which resulted in the neutralization of one IPOB member while others fled into the nearby bushes.
According to him, items recovered included: one AK-47 rifle; two AK-47 magazines; 54 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two handheld radios and three stolen Sienna buses.
The spokesman said: “The Force Commander Joint Task-Force South-East, Operation UDO KA, Maj.-Gen. Hassan Dada, wishes to appreciate the synergy among the troops and other security agencies.
“All law abiding citizens of South East Nigeria are all enjoined to continually provide timely, reliable and credible information through the Emergency Line 193 and then press Option 2 to speak a call centre representative.” (Flowerbudnews)
