Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  has commended  the House of Representatives for ‘upholding the rule of law and asserting the supremacy of the Constitution in handling the leadership crisis of the House .

This was contained in a press statement signed by the state Public Relations Officer of the party, Adamu Ali Jalla.

According to the statement, it observed that rather than complying with the directive of the National Assembly, the state Governor Bala Mohammed is allegedly trying to create another round of confusion by directing his 11 stooge members to converge next Monday to repeal a legislation that gives the assembly powers to confirm the appointment of local government caretaker committee chairmen and councillors.

The statement added that the APC will not relent towards ensuring that the right thing is done on the crisis.

The party then called on security agencies not to allow themselves to be used on the crisis of the Assembly, called on the security agents to respect the position of Nigerian Constitution.

It would be recalled that the House of Representatives had sent a committee under Musa Sarki Adar to investigate the crisis surrounding the inauguration of the 9th Assembly and the circumstances that led to the emergence of two presiding officers.
