Prof. Micheal Edet Ibanga has been appointed acting Dean , Faculty of Law following the suspension of the former acting Dean, Prof. Micheal Otu by the University Senate at its 253rd meeting .
A letter of appointment signed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Offiong E. Offiong states that the appointment is for a period of six months at the first instance with effect from 22nd January, 2026.
Prof. Ibanga, as conveyed in the letter, is expected to discharge his duties diligently by effectively administering the Faculty for optimal productivity while ensuring compliance of the Departments under his watch to laid down rules and regulations of the University.
The new acting Dean is also expected to turn in results within given timelines, reconcile all factions, as well as, restore sanity and stability in the faculty during his tenure.
This is even as all appointees of the Vice Chancellor are expected to key into the mission and vision of the administration, ensuring that the values and expectations of the University are upheld at all times.
