Ede (Osun State): A political and grassroot leader in Ede, Hon. Ganiyu Amoo Tiamiyu has empowered several women in Ede North Local Government Area with financial credit facilities to boost their economic capacities.

Alh. Tiamiyu, (a.k.a T – Gay), an alumni of the prestigious Ede Muslim Grammar School (EMGS), presented the credit facilities to the women at a colourful ceremony held at his Ologun Agbaakin Ward 3, Ẹdẹ North Local Government.
The Chairman of the occasion, Alh. Kazeem Kolapo Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to Governor Adeleke, commended the initiative of Hon. Ganiyu Tiamiyu for assisting the women.

The Chief of Staff, who was represented by Dr. Taoheed Adisa Olohunde, the PA to the CoS, enjoined other politicians to emulate the kind gesture of Alh. Tiamiyu by extending helping hands to members of their constituencies.

Alh. Akinleye noted that such benevolence to women by various politicians in Osun, would help to compliment the good efforts Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke is making to alleviate poverty, particularly among the women.
Other guests who also spoke glowingly of Hon. Ganiyu Tiamiyu included Alh. Ismail Olayiwola (Secretary, Ẹdẹ North LG), Alh. Sikiru Olayiwola, the PDP Chairman, Ẹdẹ North Local Government and baba Rauf Agbabiada.

Highlight of the ocassion was the presentation of Cheque by Dr. Taoheed Adisa Olohinde to the President of the Muslim Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Alh. Adekilekun Otitoloju
The tepresentative of the Chief of Staff, Dr. Taoheed Adisa was supported by Alhaji Tiamiyu Amoo Ganiyu in resenting the cheques.
The women leader in the ward, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to Alh Tiamiyu and the collaborating Cooperative Society.
She assured that they would not default in the terms and conditions attached to the empowerment.
Alh. Ganiyu Amoo Tiamiyu was born over six decades ago at Aworo Compound, Ologun Agbaakin Ward 3, Ede North Local Government of Osun State.
He had his elementary education at L A Primary School Obada, Ede and his tertiary and professional education variously at The Polytechnic Ibadan, University of Ibadan, University of Ado Ekiti, College of Accountancy, Jos and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
A skilful canvasser and tactical grassroots mobilizer, he combines both Local Government and State Civil Service experience in his clean and unblemished career as a Civil Servant.
Alhaji Tiamiyu is a respected Community leader, a season Administrator, an Accountant, who retired as Director of Finance in the Osun State Civil Service, and also a Lawyer .
