Exam Briefing 2026: FEDPA Management Reinforces Zero Tolerance for Malpractice

    By Aliyu Mofoluwaso Raheem

In a decisive move to uphold academic integrity and sustain a culture of excellence, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, has issued a strong advisory to students to shun examination malpractices and embrace disciplined preparation ahead of the First Semester 2025/2026 Academic Session examinations.

The charge was delivered during a comprehensive Examination Briefing organised by the institution’s Management to sensitise students on the dos and don’ts of examination conduct.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. T. M. Adepoju, cautioned students against any act of misconduct capable of derailing their academic pursuits. She emphasized that the Polytechnic maintains zero tolerance for examination malpractice before, during, and after examinations.

“We are begging you now so that you won’t come back to beg us,” she passionately stated, urging students to prepare adequately and approach their examinations with integrity and confidence.

The Registrar, Mrs. Bukola Elizabeth Dairo, reinforced the message, calling on students to listen attentively and take full advantage of the insights shared during the sensitisation programme.

Delivering a lecture on effective use of academic resources, Dr. Halima Amuda encouraged students to cultivate strong reading habits and maximise the rich resources available in the Polytechnic Library, including access to past examination questions across departments. She also urged unregistered students to complete their library registration without delay.

On examination preparedness, Engr. Dr. Jacob Olufemi Ayangbekun, Dean of the School of Engineering Technology, outlined all compulsory documents required for entry into examination halls, including valid school identity cards, course registration forms, and payment receipts. He stressed that failure to present any of these documents would automatically disqualify a student from sitting for the examination.

Further enlightening students on examination ethics, Dr. Kehinde Odelade, Director of Research, Innovation and Grant Management, detailed various forms of misconduct such as cheating, possession of unauthorized materials, communication during examinations, and use of electronic devices. He clearly outlined penalties attached to such offences, including suspension, expulsion, and disruption of academic progression.

“If you indulge in malpractice, you will be caught,” he warned firmly.

Providing general counsel, Mrs. Abosede Onaolapo, Dean of the School of Agricultural Technology, advised students to intensify revision efforts, noting that the examination period should strictly be for revision, not initial reading. She urged students to avoid negative influences and align themselves with peers who promote academic success.

“There is no short cut to success,” she affirmed.

On behalf of the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Musibau Afolabi, Mr. Babatunde Ojo expressed appreciation to Management and all contributors who ensured the success of the programme. He encouraged students to implement the valuable lessons learned.

The well-attended briefing further showcased the proactive leadership and commitment of the Polytechnic’s Management team, including Mr. Sunday Adepoju (Acting Director, CICPR), Mr. Lateef Oloyede, Mr. Aliyu Mofoluwaso Raheem, and Mr. Ayuba Tijani, among others.

Through this timely intervention, Federal Polytechnic Ayede once again demonstrates its unwavering dedication to academic excellence, discipline, and character development—solidifying its reputation as a forward-looking institution committed to producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive graduates.

  • THE UNIQUENESS OF EASTER: REV’D S.A ADELEKE DECLARES THE RESURRECTION AS THE FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIAN HOPE

THE UNIQUENESS OF EASTER: REV’D S.A ADELEKE DECLARES THE RESURRECTION AS THE FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIAN HOPE

The atmosphere at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Okoro, Oke-Itunu, Ibadan was filled with reverence and joy this morning, April 5th, 2026, as Rev’d S.A Adeleke delivered a powerful Easter sermon during the English Service session, reminding worshippers of the unmatched significance of Christ’s resurrection.

Preaching on the theme “The Uniqueness of Easter,” Rev’d Adeleke emphasized that while various religions and belief systems recount the birth and death of their deities, none presents the historical and scriptural account of resurrection as clearly and powerfully as that of Jesus Christ.

“Various deities or gods have accounts of their birth and death,” he declared, “but none have the account of their resurrection. The resurrection of Christ was explicitly stated in the Bible and fulfilled exactly as written.”

Highlighting the uniqueness of Easter, the cleric outlined four profound truths that set Christianity apart.

First, he affirmed that Jesus forgives sins, referencing 1 John 1:9 and Mark 2:5–7. “No matter how grievous your sin,” he assured the congregation, “Jesus forgives.” He stressed that the resurrection validates Christ’s authority not only to heal but to cleanse humanity from every stain of sin.

Second, Rev’d Adeleke spoke on the redemptive power of Christ’s sacrifice, citing Hebrews 9:13–14. He reminded believers that Jesus shed His blood to deliver humanity from guilt. “The blood of Jesus was not symbolic,” he explained. “It was sacrificial, powerful, and sufficient for our redemption.”

Third, he emphasized the abiding presence of Christ. Drawing from John 14:18 and Matthew 28:20, he reassured the congregation that Jesus never abandons His people. “When things are smooth, we can be sure we have a companion. The God of the good time is the God of the bad time,” he said. “His resurrection assures us of His presence. He lives, and because He lives, we are never alone.”

Finally, Rev’d Adeleke proclaimed boldly that Jesus is alive, referencing Acts 1:9–11 and Revelation 22:12. He noted that every prophecy concerning Christ has been fulfilled, underscoring the reliability of Scripture and the certainty of His promised return.

In his stirring conclusion, the pastor reminded worshippers that Easter is not merely a celebration but a call to readiness and reflection. “Easter should remind us that God is coming back,” he declared, urging believers to live in holiness, faith, and expectation.

The sermon left the congregation deeply inspired, reaffirming that Easter is not just an annual observance but the cornerstone of Christian faith—an enduring testimony that Christ conquered death and offers forgiveness, redemption, companionship, and the promise of His glorious return.

He equally applauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) for providing a strong platform for progressive governance and people-centered policies across the nation.

According to him, the spirit of Easter should inspire leaders and citizens alike to rise above division and work collectively toward sustainable development and prosperity for all. He stressed that true leadership is built on sacrifice and service — principles that have guided his consistent engagement with grassroots communities across Ibadan North.

Hon. Khalil Mustapha Adegboyega (Repete) further called on residents to use the season as an opportunity to extend love to neighbors, support the less privileged, and strengthen the bonds that unite the constituency.

“As we celebrate this sacred season, may hope rise in every home, peace reign in every heart, and may Ibadan North continue to flourish in unity and progress,” he concluded.
