President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu as the substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s leadership and developmental journey.
The appointment was disclosed on Tuesday by the Acting Director of the Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Mr. Sunday Adepoju, who quoted the official announcement issued by the Registrar, Mr. Akinlolu Akinpade.
According to the Registrar, the appointment was approved by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and took effect from August 5, 2026.
Dr. Adelabu, a Chartered Accountant and Chief Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, brings to the new position considerable academic, professional and administrative experience.
Prior to his appointment, he served the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, in several strategic administrative capacities, including Head of Department, Dean of School and Deputy Rector (Administration).
The Registrar described the new Rector’s wealth of experience, academic contributions and proven administrative competence as valuable assets that would contribute significantly to the continued growth, development and advancement of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
With the appointment, Dr. Adelabu becomes the second substantive Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, succeeding the institution’s pioneer Rector and ushering in a new phase of leadership.
The Registrar, on behalf of the Polytechnic Management, Staff and Students, called for maximum support, cooperation and commitment from all members of the Polytechnic community as the new Rector assumes the responsibility of advancing the institution’s vision and mission.
The announcement further conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students to Dr. Adelabu, with prayers for wisdom, strength and the capacity to provide purposeful, transformative and result-oriented leadership as he leads the Polytechnic towards greater heights.
