Osun: Construction Work on Lagere Flyover Bridge Generates More Employment for Residents

Ile-Ife (Osun) Flowerbudnews: Increasing tempo of construction work on the Osun State Government Mega Project of Flyover bridge at Lagere area of Ile-Ife has continued to excite residents,  creating more gainful employment opportunities for them.

A Flowerbudnews Correspondent who visited the construction site on Friday reports that casting of precast beams were in progress, while more beam reinforcements were also ready for casting.

A supervising Engineer at the site, Engr. AbdulGaniy Oyebamiji told Flowerbudnews that ‘:blinding for the pile cap of the first Abutment has been done.”

The Engineer added that the ”reinforcement for the cap is being fixed while Conduction of integrity and pile load tests are also in progress.”

Flowerbudnews learnt that all the efforts were to ensure that the highest standard and quality is achieved in line with the desire of Governor Ademola Adeleke who is said to be ”very passionate about the mega projects and is determined to ensure that the highest quality is achieved”.

Engr. Oyebamiji confirmed to Flowerbudnews that adequate ”Construction materials and equipment are available,” and affirmed, ”Generally, site works are progressing.”

Flowerbudnews observed that more and more residents of Ile-Ife were being engaged by the contractor – M/s SAMMYA Nigeria Limited as the scope of construction activities expanded.

Some of the workers, who confirmed that they were ”gainfully employed” by the Contractor – M/s SAMMYA,
commended Governor Adeleke for the ongoing project.

”This work is providing sustenance for me and my family at this time when things are very hard for Nigerians, am grateful to Governor Adeleke and our employer – SAMMYA Nigeria Limited,” one of the workers on the site who gave his name as Samuel Ajayi, told Flowerbudnews.

Another worker on the site also commended Governor Adeleke and the Contractor – SAMMYA Nigeria Limited, saying: ”am so happy! I collect my pay unfailingly everyday, I pray this contractor will keep getting good jobs like this, for I will like to work with them for years,”.

A Manager of SAMMYA Nigeria Limited, Rotimi Olugbade told Flowerbudnews that ”work is progressing very well, even we are moving faster than the programme of work.”

Olugbade said: ”The people are happy. There is Increase in sales for goods and food vendors etc. More employment opportunities, more job openings as the work progresses and thereby increases the standard of living of the people.’:

The Company Manager commended the State Government for providing all the necessary support, saying; ”Resources are being provided as at when due with the use of modern equipments to facilitate production and construction ”

Olugbade said that the Company too was fully fortified with Qualified and experienced personnels in all departments including Engr Michael Adedayo Adebiyi ( project manager) and an expatriate, Engr. Samir Chinawi, the site manager. (Flowerbudnews)
