Kaduna (Flowerbudnews): The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed three water factories in Kaduna with a warning of further tough actions against producers of regulated products violating regulations.

Flowerbudnews reports that the New NAFDAC North West Zonal Boss, Ali Bulus Mshelia, who personally led enforcement operations to Igabi and Markafi Local Government Areas of Kaduna state, warned that henceforth, all violators of Good Manufacturing Practice etc, would be made to face the wrath of the law.

Mshelia told Flowerbudnews that the three water facilities were sanctioned for Producing sachet water without registration and also for engaging in Production with expired licence.

The NAFDAC Zonal Boss, who is a Deputy Director, told FLOWERBUDNEWS that the water factories were also shut for unauthorized pack size extension and for Poor Good Manufacturing Practice, all of which, he noted, could affect the safety and wholesomeness of the products.

Mshelia warned that the enforcement operations would be intensified in line with the directives of NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye to safeguard the health of Nigerians.

‘:This exercise is being intensified and all violators will be made to face the wrath of the law,” He said.

Mshelia charged all producers of NAFDAC regulated products in the North West Zone to ensure strict compliance with NAFDAC regulations and guidelines.

Meanwhile, Mshelia has been undertaking familiarisation visits to the various NAFDAC units and operational sections to appraise and re-jig operational commitment in line with the Agency’s mandate and the Director General’s instructions.

During the visits to the Director, Kaduna Laboratory Service, the DD I/c Investigation and enforcement and to the PID staff all in Kaduna, Mshelia emphasized the need for synergy among the various NAFDAC formations in the state.

It will recalled that Mshelia recently took over the leadership of NAFDAC’s NWZ from Mrs Josephine Dayilim who retired graciously after a meritorious service in NAFDAC. (Flowerbudnews)
