Detroit (Michigan, US): Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, stood confidently at the podium, surveying the crowd of esteemed guests at the Afemai World Congress in Detroit, Michigan, US.
With a deep breath, he began his speech, his voice ringing out across the room.
“Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, I stand before you today as a symbol of unyielding determination. For I have faced numerous attempts on my life, orchestrated by those who seek to silence me and destroy all that I hold dear.”
Shaibu’s eyes scanned the room, his gaze piercing as he continued, “I speak, of course, of the error that is Obaseki. A man who sought to destroy everyone who stood by him, who sought to annihilate all that is good and just in our great state.”
Shaibu continues, “I stand before you today, alive and unbroken. For despite the numerous attempts on my life, despite the recent incident at the Benin airport, I remain steadfast in my commitment to the people of Edo State.”
A murmur ran through the crowd, shock and outrage etched on the faces of the guests.
Shaibu’s voice rose above the din, his words ringing out like a call to action. “I will continue to fight for the truth, no matter the cost. I will continue to stand for what is right, even in the face of adversity.”
The room erupted into applause as Shaibu concluded his speech, his words leaving a lasting impact on the guests.
