Chief Hycienth Ngwu, former Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC) in South-East, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s administration on bringing on board decisive leadership that took definite decision meant to reposition Nigeria for future greatness.

Ngwu gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen in Enugu on Sunday on impactful projects and programmes embarked on by Tinubu’s administration as he marks his one year in office.

He said that one of such difficult decisions is the removal of subsidy on petroleum, which had been a big corruption drain on the nation’s economy from one administration to another and even opposition parties recognized that it must be dealt with.

According to him, at a time in the nation’s history, the question is which leader will be brave and audacious to remove subsidy on petroleum and stop the circle of cabals holding the nation to ransom.

“President Bola Tinubu not only removed the cankerworm called subsidy on petroleum but he did it with precision and dispatch; thus, setting the tone that he will run a no nonsense administration.

“This and more salient decisions he took in the course of his one year in office have brought some level of stability in the economic, social and physiological outlook and wellbeing of the country,” he said.

Ngwu, who is a foundation member of APC, said that the present administration had set the ground running with massive and legacy road construction projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Super Coastal Multi-Carriage Highway.

He said that the Coastal Multi-Carriage Highway would transverse most states in the South-West and South-South as well as have overflow branches to about two states in the South-East.

The APC chieftain noted that the Coastal Multi-Carriage Highway would open up lots of communities and states in the Southern part of the country and make their present and potential seaports viable to the rest of the world, especially African countries.

“We also have fast and solid work ongoing in the Enugu-Onitsha Dual Carriage Highway and Enugu-Aba- Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Highways as well as the second Niger Bridge and rail transport being revived in every corner of the country.

“We are also witnessing such advances in road constructions in other parts of the country, even up North.

“What is made real by the President Tinubu’s administration has been copied and stepped down by various state governors as they have increased the tempo of road infrastructure construction and provision in their various states,” he said.

Ngwu also said that the students’ loan scheme remained “a great masterpiece initiative” and fulfillment of one of the cardinal electioneering campaign promises of President Tinubu to Nigerian youths.

He said that this initiative had put President Tinubu in the league of the Great Awolowo, who from on-set understood the value and overwhelming social and economic gain education can bring to individuals and the nation.

“The students’ loan will no doubt provide a great opportunity for children from indigent families to achieve their full potential and have a sense of belonging in being Nigerians,” he said.

Ngwu, however, urged Tinubu to rally round his various economic teams, agencies and ministries to arrest the current inflation rate, which is making life difficult.
