Amid implementation of N250 billion infrastructure plan by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ilesa community has said the drive is modernising their local government areas and tackling thuggery.

The community noted that the drive is boosting agricultural productivity and providing employment opportunities for youths in the councils.

Speaking during a public assessment, a traditional ruler in Ibokun Local Government Area of the Stat4, the Oyebon of Ibotoro, Oba Samson Aderibigbe, described Governor Adeleke as a dependable son of the soil who has brought long-awaited progress to their land.

His words, “Road construction never existed here before. Since he came to power, look at how good this community is.

“He started the construction from Ibotoro to Ada to Agba to Ororuwo. There is no part of Ibokun Local Government where his projects have not been noticed. He has made us comfortable in Osun.”

Similarly, a resident of Ilesa, Ibrahim Olawale said the government’s investments in roads and public infrastructure have directly curbed youth restlessness and reduced accidents in previously unsafe junctions.

He emphasized that the projects have not only improved mobility and safety but also significantly reduced thuggery and boosted agricultural productivity.

He said, “In terms of infrastructural facilities, it’s very good. It has brought a lot of development to the masses. Before now, we used to see thugs along the road, but the government has engaged many of them. We call them ‘old tramps, they help keep pedestrians safe. This has reduced thuggery and even accidents. Akewusola Junction used to record frequent crashes, but since the road was expanded and street lights installed, such incidents have stopped.”

Also, a commodity trader from Ogbon Titun Okesa, Ilesa, Akinola Bolanle, shared similar sentiments, noting that many unemployed youths in the area have now found meaningful work.

“Before, we had a lot of thugs in this environment, but now they have reduced,” she said. “This road has helped us greatly. I even bought my shop when construction started, and because the area is now more open and organized, sales have improved.”

A farmer from Oke Oye Street, Ibokun. Mr. Gbadebo, also applauded Adeleke’s leadership, noting that the newly completed road has transformed their daily lives.

“His works are in our favour. Even if he wants to go for a third term, I’m pleased with it. This road was done for us when no one believed it would happen. We want more help with farming supplements to make life easier. He gave us fertilizers before, and we get them at the King’s Palace”

    By Cauker Johnson

In almost three years of His Excellency Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke’s leadership, Osun State has truly felt the touch of light — Imole. From the very first day, the Governor showed that governance can be both compassionate and impactful. He came with an open heart, a listening ear, and a strong will to deliver.

Governor Adeleke has brought smiles to the faces of civil servants and pensioners through regular payment of salaries and entitlements. His love for the people shows in every action he takes, and his passion for service is genuine and inspiring. The roads across our communities now tell the story of progress. The schools are coming alive again with new roofs, better classrooms, and renewed hope for our children.

PDP Misunderstanding Will be Resolved – Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that the internal issues within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are being resolved amicably as a ‘family affair’, insisting that the party remains united and ready for its forthcoming national convention.

Adeleke stated this in Abuja after presiding over the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the PDP National Convention Committee. The governor serves as Deputy Chairman of the Convention and Chairman of the Accommodation Sub-Committee.

He said all necessary arrangements had been finalised to ensure a smooth and successful convention scheduled for 15th and 16th October, adding that the PDP had a long-standing culture of internal organisation and adherence to the rule of law.

“We have just concluded the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee. Everyone was present, and we have resolved everything that needed to be sorted out so that the convention can proceed smoothly. We believe it will be very successful,” Adeleke told journalists after the meeting.

On reports of divisions within the party, Adeleke dismissed any suggestion of crisis, saying the PDP was addressing its challenges internally.

“I can assure you that we are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It is a family affair. We do not want anyone outside to add sugar, pepper or salt to the matter; we are handling it ourselves. The PDP is a family, and we know how to manage our affairs,” he said

The governor also reacted to reports of defections by some PDP governors and members to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying such movements were normal in politics and would not affect the PDP’s national strength or structure.

“Anybody, whether a governor or a minister, has the right to make their own decision. That does not change anything in the PDP. We still have strong membership and widespread support across Nigeria,” he said.

Adeleke added that his attendance at social events hosted by APC members should not be misinterpreted as a move to defect, stressing that personal relationships cut across party lines.

“If I have friends in the APC and they invite me to a wedding or social function, I will attend. That doesn’t mean I’m joining them,” he clarified.

He expressed confidence that the PDP convention would further strengthen the party, noting that the focus remained on unity, organisation, and success.

“By God’s grace, our convention will be a great success, and the PDP will continue to grow from strength to strength,” Adeleke said.

  • Governor Adeleke Proves Leadership Amid Federal Allocation Seizures

Governor Adeleke Proves Leadership Amid Federal Allocation Seizures

Osun State Governor, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has continued to demonstrate resilience and people-centered leadership despite the federal government’s seizure of local government allocations. For the past eight months, the state has endured what many describe as an “economic siege,” yet Adeleke has remained steadfast in paying salaries, funding projects, and protecting residents.

Observers note that Nigeria is no stranger to federal interference in state affairs, with parallels drawn to the Rivers State crisis earlier this year, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara faced unconstitutional emergency rule.

In Osun, similar tactics were deployed—allocations withheld and attempts made to reinstate sacked local government chairmen—but these efforts failed to weaken Adeleke’s administration.

Against this backdrop, the governor has ensured that local government workers, teachers, health workers, and pensioners continue to receive their entitlements on time.

Major infrastructure projects, including the state’s first-ever 10-span flyover at Oke Fia in Osogbo, are also progressing. Residents like Mr. Bello of Igbalaye Street have openly credited Adeleke’s administration for breaking away from the cycle of excuses and abandoned projects that characterized the past.

The growing goodwill across Osun State suggests that Adeleke’s refusal to bow to political intimidation is resonating with the people. Supporters say his record of protecting lives and ensuring consistent development under federal pressure has strengthened his mandate and bolstered calls for his leadership to continue beyond 2026.

In a strongly worded statement, Apesin-Abiodun Adegoke, a concerned citizen from Modakeke, Osun State, applauded the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare and described him as a “serious leader with a human face.”

He further emphasized that the people of Osun have taken note of Adeleke’s courage and resilience in the face of political intimidation. According to Adegoke, true leadership is about people, not power play, and Adeleke has proven himself to be on the side of his people.

Concluding his remarks, Apesin-Abiodun Adegoke reaffirmed that Osun is indeed fortunate to have Governor Adeleke at the helm and called on residents to sustain their support for him beyond 2026.

    Original Statement
Governor Adeleke: A Serious Leader Delivering Workers’ Salaries, Projects, and Protecting Lives and Properties of Osun Residents Despite Allocation Seizures

Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of Osun State has once again proven himself to be a serious leader, a governor with a human face, and a man deeply committed to the welfare of his people.

    governor ademola adeleke

Despite sustained attempts to strangulate his administration through the illegal seizure of local government allocations by the federal government, Governor Adeleke has remained resolute, focused, and unwavering in his service delivery.

Nigerians are not strangers to federal meddling in state affairs. We recall the unlawful assault on democracy in Rivers State, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the State Assembly were subjected to an unconstitutional imposition of emergency rule, a move designed to coerce allegiance to the disjointed All Progressives Congress (APC). That same playbook was applied in Osun State in recent months.

For the past eight months, the federal government has deliberately withheld Osun State’s local government allocations in a desperate bid to paralyze governance and compel Governor Adeleke to defect to the APC.

This party has lost attraction and relevance in Osun. Even attempts to re-impose the sacked “Yes or No” council chairmen and councilors through the back door failed woefully.

Yet, Governor Adeleke has refused to be distracted. With unwavering commitment, he continues to pay the salaries of local government workers, including teachers from Primary 1 to Junior Secondary 3, health workers, and pensioners who depend on local government funds. In addition, he has successfully executed critical infrastructure projects across the state, a feat many considered impossible under the present economic conditions.

At Oke Fia in Osogbo, where the first-ever 10-span flyover in Osun State is under construction, residents like Mr. Bello of Igbalaye Street openly testified that if the APC were still in power, the state would have been riddled with excuses, abandoned projects, and unpaid salaries. Instead, under Governor Adeleke, Osun is enjoying steady progress and renewed hope.

The people of Osun have taken note. They are convinced that Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, who has consistently placed their welfare above politics despite federal hostility, deserves to continue in office beyond 2026.

The overwhelming goodwill across the state is a strong indication that the people of Osun want his leadership sustained till 2030.

Governor Adeleke’s resilience in the face of intimidation is a reminder that true leadership is about people, not power play. Osun State is indeed fortunate to have in him a serious governor who knows his onions and remains committed to building a secure, prosperous future.

Gov. Adeleke says Osun is President’s Home, must not be turned into battleground

OSUN State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on security agencies to remain neutral and professional in the unfolding political atmosphere, stressing that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, must not be turned into a political battleground. The Governor made this appeal during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, held at the Government House, Osogbo.

The event had in attendance the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan; the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Igbalawole Sotiyo; the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr. Leye Adegboyega; and other service chiefs.

Governor Adeleke commended the Nigeria Police Force for consistently embracing professionalism, praising both the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for their discipline and adherence to due process. He particularly lauded Commissioner of Police Gotan for his leadership style, which he said has promoted peace and order across the state.

While appreciating the synergy among security agencies in Osun, Adeleke charged them to maintain neutrality in political activities, insisting that law enforcement must not be compromised by partisanship.

“We should continue to maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of President. President belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” the Governor emphasized.

Turning to the celebrant, Adeleke expressed joy over the promotion of his ADC, describing DSP Abdulraman as an exemplary officer whose loyalty and discipline embody the values of the Nigeria Police. “I am happy today over the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police,” the Governor noted, adding that the Force remains a vital institution in Nigeria’s growth and stability.

He further highlighted the sacrifices of security operatives nationwide, remarking that the Nigeria Police remains a “blessed organisation” that deserves the appreciation of both the government and the people.

In his goodwill message, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, congratulated DSP Abdulraman and commended his service record. He reminded the officer that promotions come with added responsibilities and urged him to remain committed to discipline, professionalism, and the highest ideals of policing.

  • Adeleke’s achievements in two years surpassed Oyetola’s, both as governor and Minister – APC member

Adeleke’s achievements in two years surpassed Oyetola’s, both as governor and Minister – APC member

A member of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Tunde Ayofe has argued that Governor Ademola Adeleke of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party has achieved so much in his two years in office that has become difficult for the party to deny.

He said he could not hide the facts that Governor Adeleke, though of a different political party, has surpassed the achievements of his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, adding that Oyetola who is the Osun APC leader has not marched Adeleke’s performance even as a Minister of Marine and Blue Economy combined.

Flowing from his assessment of the incumbent administration, Ayofe, an APC politician in Ede, emphatically announced that Adeleke’s second term is not negotiable.

The APC member made these assertions while speaking on Rave FM radio programme monitored by THE POINT on Thursday in Osogbo.

He explained that he could not pretend that Adeleke has not performed beyond his expectations, stressing that many APC members in the state know this but that they have been hypocritical about it.

According to him, he doesn’t care if his admission of Adeleke’s performance would make members of the APC dislike him, disclosing that APC is currently in deep crisis because there is no truth among many members.

“Why I am saying these is because Governor Adeleke has a lot of achievements that people can see. I am a real APC member but as you know, politicians, especially those in my party, don’t like the fact that I speak the truth. I love APC and I am doing everything to support the party. I can’t pretend over what his obvious. Adeleke has done so much.

“Another fact is that the two years of Adeleke has overshadowed what APC has done in six years of Gboyega Oyetola, both as a governor and Minister. Before, the road from Akoda Ede to Olaiya Osogbo has been in bad state that people risk kidnapping but now, the road has been constructed and lightened. Look at Testing Ground area, the roads there are good. I was watching Osun workers listing achievements of Adeleke.l recently. The workers said Governor Ademola Adeleke has been the second best governor paying workers and he is doing the same thing in the areas of environment and health. The workers said they would never pray that APC takes over power. I am only speaking the truth. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila also concured to the fact that Adeleke has engendered good governance in Osun. Even President Bola Tinubu commended Adeleke for his achievements when he recently felicitated him on his birthday. Ademola Adeleke will win 2026,” he hinted.

He added, “APC members are full of liars, we don’t always accept truth especially when opponents are performing well. I have a relation among government workers and I can tell that his living condition has changed for good since Adeleke assumed power.”

Commenting on the crisis rocking local government administration in Osun State, Ayofe claimed that if it were to be a sane clime those parading as resinstated chairmen under APC would have been behind bars for disrupting local governance.

“Our APC chairmen ought to be imprisoned if we were in a sane clime for disrupting council activities, they ought to have been arrested and remanded but because we have our party at the federal level,” he said.

Lashing out at those calling for declaration of State of Emergency in Osun owing to the council administration logjam, the APC member said, “Calling for state of emergency have shown that APC don’t have the interest of Osun at heart.”

Maintaining that Governor Adeleke is performing outstandingly, Ayofe noted, “I thought Adeleke would not perform but I feel ashamed reeling out his achievements today. People are enjoying his governance style. APC members are the only ones that are disgruntled.”

He condemned Oyetola for organising Yes/No local government elections in 2022 within 90 days after the incumbent Minister was defeated by
