Oshogbo (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered immediate rehabilitation of the bridge ahead of the commissioning of the new Okefia flyover bridge.
The directive followed the Governor’s increasing worry about the manifest worsening state of Olaiya bridge at Osogbo
The governor, who had a stop over at the Olaiya bridge on Wednesday, directed immediate action to put the bridge in proper shape, a statement by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Spokesperson to the State Governor, disclosed in Oshogbo.
He directed the Ministry of Works to review the status of the bridge, clean it up, fix any noticed shortcomings and make it complementary to the bigger and more standard Okefia and Lameco flyover bridges.
“The ministry of Works should immediately act on this Olaiya bridge. Let us clean it up. It is a state asset. We must ensure its proper maintenance. This should be done before we commission Okefia bridge
“I believe government is a continuum. All inherited projects are being completed by our government and all completed projects by the previous administrations must be appropriately maintained”, the governor submitted.
