AXA Mansard receives Community Hero Award for blood donation support

Lagos, Sept. 9, 2026, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has received the Community Hero Award from the Blood Transfusion Centre, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), for supporting voluntary blood donation.
The company disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.
The award recognised the company’s contribution to promoting voluntary blood donation and improving access to life-saving blood for patients in need.
The recognition followed sustained support for blood donation through employee-led blood drives organised in partnership with the LUTH Blood Transfusion Centre.
AXA Mansard said its employees had donated more than 200 pints of blood over the past two years to support patients requiring blood transfusions.
The company said the initiative brought together employees across the organisation who volunteered their time and donated blood to help address the demand for blood in healthcare facilities.
It said the growing participation reflected a culture of volunteerism among its employees and demonstrated their collective contribution to community wellbeing.
Adebola Surakat, Chief Marketing Officer, AXA Mansard Plc, said the award reflected the company’s commitment to promoting human progress and protecting what mattered most.
Surakat said the company believed that protection should extend beyond insurance to improving the wellbeing and resilience of the communities it served.
She said the recognition reflected both the company’s commitment and the values demonstrated by its employees through community-focused initiatives.
The company said the blood donation initiative formed part of its broader efforts to support healthcare interventions and encourage employee volunteerism.
It added that the Community Hero Award recognised organisations that contributed to blood donation awareness, encouraged voluntary participation and supported efforts to maintain a safe and sustainable blood supply.
AXA Mansard said the initiative underscored its belief that protecting lives extended beyond insurance and financial services.
