The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has extolled the integrity, transparency and uprightness of Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, over Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign fund accountability.
The Chairman of CLO in Anambra, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme, gave the commendation on Saturday in Enugu while speaking with newsmen on the need for all politicians to emulate Obi.
According to Ezekwueme, it is noteworthy that Obi out of his own volition gave account of his presidential campaign funds to the public for scrutiny and verification in tandem with his accountability and “go and verify mantra”.
“It is pertinent to note that when you are honest and transparent, there will be nothing to hide; hence you will be eager, willing and proud to give account of your stewardship.
“Recall that truth can never be faulted, fortified or falsified. Let it loose, it will certainly defend itself.
“It is of significant importance and inevitable need for our political class to emulates Obi’s selflessness, patriotism, prudent, transparency and overarching zeal to better the living conditions of ordinary Nigerians and indigent students.
“Worthy of note is that Mr Peter Obi has set a patriotic precedent that others should follow,” he said.
The CLO boss said that Nigeria and Nigerians more than ever before needs accountable, responsible, responsive, patriotic and prudent leaders in other to actualised lofty ideas of our founding fathers.(Flowerbudnews
He, however, appealed to governments at all levels to take proactive steps to tackles insecurity, hyperinflation and depreciation value of our national currency in other to ameliorates excruciating sufferings and hardships of the citizens.
