    Ilorin (Flowerbudnews) The National President of the Builders, Construction and Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Haj Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu has expressed the support of the teeming artisans in the country for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing mass housing projects.

    Fasasi gave the assurance in Ilorin while addressing artisans who attended the just; concluded 14th Meeting of the National Council on Lands Housing and Urban Development at the Innovation Hub where the council meeting held.

    Fasasi described the housing projects as ”unprecedented” noting that the renewed hope housing projects deserved the support of all well-meaning Nigerians, including BACSAAN members across the country.

    The Artisan leader particularly commended ”the dedication and commitment with which the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is executing the project,” saying; ‘:we were so impressed with the level of work done on the mass housing projects as shown in the imagery displayed during the council meeting”.

    The BACSAAN Leader commended the government ”for the reasonable prices attached to the different categories of the buildings,” noting that such action was necessary to make the houses affordable to the less privileged across the country.

    He assured the artisans that BACSAAN would intensify interactions with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to explore how members of the Association can key-in and benefit from the projects.

    ”On the sideline of the Council Meeting, we interacted with the Honourable Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Ahmed Dangiwa, the Permanent Secretary, and several Directors on issues of empowerment of artisans,” the BACSAAN leader disclosed.

    He said that the Minister and the Permanent Secretary were very enthusiastic and encouraging on the need to boost economic empowerment of Nigerian artisans. adding that the the Ministry’s Director in charge of artisan matters was also very compassionate to the BACSAAN leaders when they met and discussed with her at the council meeting.

    Fasasi disclosed that BACSAAN members include bricklayers, Electricians, Plumbers, welders, Capenters, POP makers. Tilers. Mechanics, Rewires,Tailors, Vulcanisers, Blockmolders, etc

    ,” Our plan and wish is to fully harness the active and potential numerical strength of the Nigerian Artisans for a dedicated, loyal and committed support for the a rapid and sustainable economic and infrastructural growth of Nigeria ” the BACSAAN Leader stated.

    Abuja (Flowerbudnews) The Builders, Construction and Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint a Special Adviser on Artisan Affairs to facilitate impactiful economic empowerment for handwork practitioners across the country.

    The National President of the Builders,  Construction and Skilled Artisans of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Haj. Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu reiterated the call on Saturday in Abuja while speaking in an interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS at the recent 10th Convention and Convocation ceremony of the International Islamic Therapy Institute.

    Haj Fasasi stressed that appointment of a Special Adviser from the ranks of artisans would be another commendable initiative from President Tinubu, and also a realistic way to give voice to the millions artisans across the country who are generally hardworking, but remained downtrodden.

    ”Appointment of a Special Adviser from among we Artisans, would boost President Tinubu’s standing with Artisans tremendously,” Fasasi said, adding;  ‘:the gesture had become necessary to give the.millions of Artisans in this country a sense of belonging and care”

    ”There is no doubt, that this Tinubu Administration is about the best since our return to democratic rule – it has unfolded so.many commendable initiatives that are benefiting different segments of our society, but we need him to do something which will directly touch the Artisans,” the BACSAAN National Leader stated.

    ”Appointment of one of us as a Special Adviser to the President, would mean that Artisans are now connected directly to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, this will be seen by Artisans throughout Nigeria, as a great honour and recognition by President Tinubu,” Haj Fasasi declared.

    ‘:BACSAAN members, with a potential strength of about 25 million Artisans across the country, remain a formidable segment of the productive Nigerian population,”  he said, adding; ”this will be a great asset for Mr. President if well cultivated and brought closer to the Commander – In – Chief.”

    Fasasi disclosed that BACSAAN members across the country included Welders, blockmolders, Tailors, carpenters, rewires, Hairdressers, furniture makers, mechanics, POP Makers, Tilers, Painters, plumbers etc.

    On the colourful Convention and Convocation ceremony organised by the International Islamic Therapy Institute, the BACSAAN National Leader commended the Institute’s Provost, Sheikh Zayed for impacting the knowledge of islamic Medicine on Nigerians, especially, the youths, both male and females to make them self-employed and useful to the society.

    Fasasi, whose daughter, Fatma, also graduated with 29 others at the ceremony, urged Nigerians to assist the Institution to impact more on the societ.

    Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The National President of the Builders, Construction and Skilled Artisans of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Alh. Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu has appealed to Nigeria’s Bank of Industry (BOI) to create more means for artisans to benefit from the services of the bank.

    Alh. Fasasi made the call on Wednesday when he led a BACSAAN delegation on a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of BOI, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, who was represented by his Special Assistant (SA) on Public Sector and Intervention Programmes, Mr. Ahmed Kagara at the Abuja office of the Bank.

    The Artisan leader, who commended the current leadership of BOI for its innovative approach to Nigeria’s industrial growth and economic stability, urged the bank to create more ways to directly assist the teeming artisan members of BACSAAN, most of whom, he noted, are very skilled, hardworking, but remained downtrodden.

    The BACSAAN leader said that.helping hand from the Bank of Industry in terms of possible very soft loans or outright intervention grants to BACSAAN members across the country would help lift the artisans out of poverty level.

    Fasasi disclosed that economic empowerment of BACSAAN members would impact effectively on the country as the artisans reside in all nook and cranny of Nigeria, making them a formidable segment of the nation’s productive population.

    He said that verified survey by BACSAAN showed that the association currently has potential members of over 25 million skilled artisans across the country who were all hopeful of assistance from institutions like BOI.

    Fasasi urged BOI to take the issue of economic empowerment support to the artisans as a priority which would further enhance their goodwill for the bank, and infact, also for President Tinubu’s administration.

    Responding, the BOI Managing Director’s representative, Mr. Ahmed Kagara welcomed the BACSAAN delegation and assured that BOI remained committed to supporting the growth of both the big and small scale.

    Kagara, who disclosed that the BOI has been existing since 1964 and merely changed name in 2001, said that the Bank would be willing to assist the artisans.

    He urged the BACSAAN leaders to encourage the artisans to key into the existing financial support openings in the bank by apply for such assistance through the branch of BOI nearest to them.

    Kagara stated that though, BOI ”is not a charity organisation ” the bank was always willing to assist applicants to become successful by giving them all available facilities.

    Abuja:  The  National President of the Builders and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Alh. Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu has charged all artisans across the country to obtain  voters’ card in readiness for the  2027 general elections

    Alh. Fasasi made the call on Thursday in Abuja during a working  visit to BACSAAN members engaged on some construction sites in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). a statement signed by Samson Munse, BACSAAN Information Officer, disclosed.

    He enjoined artisans, who have attained the 18-year voting age, to ensure that they obtained voters card so that the handwork professionals would play patriotic roles in the 2027 general elections.

    The BACSAAN National President also charged artisans whose voters cards had been defaced or damaged to visit the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nearest to them to regilarise such cards

    Alh. Fasasi urged all artisans to see active participation in the 2027 electoral process as a compulsory national obligation to keep the nation on the path of greatness and prosperity.

    He stressed that with the over 25 Million membership strength of BACSAAN from across the country, the artisans would have a major voting block to ensure that they remain a relevant and crucial sector of Nigeria’s democratic process.

    Alh. Fasasi assured the BACSAAN members that the Association was working to explore the several economic empowerment opportunities being unfolded by the Federal Government.

    ”We are visiting and discussing with the relevant existing agencies of the federal government and the new ones initiated by the current administration of President Bola Tinubu to ensure that artisans nationwide gets the best benefits from them,” the BACSAAN  Leader disclosed.

    BACSAAN is the national umbrella body for all artisans in Nigeria, including Masons, Welders, Iron Benders. Block Moulders, Painters, POP makers, electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters , Furniture Makers, among others.

    Abuja (FLOWERBUDNEWS): The estimated 25-Million member strong artisans in the country have requested President Bola Tinubu to appoint a Special Adviser from among them to champion enhancement of their economic empowerment.

    The appeal was made by Haj Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu, the National President of the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN)in an exclusive interview with FLOWERBUDNEWS in Abuja on Saturday.

    Haj Fasasi said that with appointment of a Special Adviser on Artisan Affairs, to be domiciled in the Presidency, he was confident that the welfare and other needs of his teeming members would be receiving prompt attention from the President.

    ‘:A position of Special Adviser would help we Artisans, as it will remove possible bottlenecks, and enable all matters relating to our affairs to reach the President promptly for timely attention,” the BACSAAN National President told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    He disclosed that ”BACSAAN is the overall umbrella body for all artisans in the country, and has members, offices and officials across the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    He said that BACSAAN’s 25-Million member strength was verified through membership subscription totalled from all the 36 states and the FCT leading to support and collaboration from several professional and governmental bodies.

    BACSAAN members include capenters, welders, bricklayers, Tilers, Fashion Designers, Iron Benders, Painters, Marble Tilers, Furniture Makers, Tailors, Mechanics, Rewires, Candle Makers, Soap Makers, Shoe Makers, Vulcanisers and Hair dressers, among others, Haj Fasasi disclosed.

    ”We currently have very robust operational relationship with the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Federal Ministry of Works and many other national institutions,” the BACSAAN National President disclosed.

    Haj Fasasi said that BACSAAN was also enjoying tremendous moral support from the office and person of Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Hajia Dr. Mujidat Folashade Tinubu – Ojo.

    ”We are particularly grateful to the Iyaloja-General because she has been very accessible to us. Her doors are always open for us whenever we needed to see her for one thing or the other,” Haj Fasasi told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    ”Our teeming members are still very hopeful that some major economic empowerment initiative would be unfolded by President Tinubu to be directed exclusively at artisans both in the urban centres and rural areas of the country,’: the BACSAAN leader said.
