CSDA Deepens Grassroot Developments as Enugu North LGA Communities Captured In NG-CARES Projects
…. Communities Hail Gov Mbah’s Intervention Drive
The Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) has intensified its community sensitisation campaign in Enugu North Local Government Area, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to inclusive rural development.
The inclusive rural development, which is meant to improve living conditions for residents, would be undertaken under the Nigerian Community Action Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES 2.0) Project.

The exercise led by the General Manager of CSDA, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani alongside members of the Agency’s staff, brought together traditional rulers, institutional leaders and other dignitaries on Sunday in meetings in various communities in the council area.
The communities captured in the council area are: Ogui Nike Umunevo, Ihewuzi Ogui Nike, Poultry Side, Ologo, Ukwuna Community, IMT Community, Hausa Community, Coal Camp Axis and Iva Valley.

Ani noted that the meetings were imperative in a collective effort to promote community-driven development under the NG-CARES programme.
He noted that members of the communities’ participation underscored the importance of collaboration between community leadership, educational institutions and government agencies in identifying local needs and supporting sustainable development initiatives.

He said, “The ongoing sensitisation campaign reflects the determination of the Enugu State Government, under the leadership of Gov. Peter Mbah, to ensure that development reaches communities across the state without leaving anyone behind.
“CSDA continues to strengthen grassroots engagement and advance the community-driven approach to development, with the ultimate goal of delivering impactful interventions that improve public health, enhance living standards and bring the benefits of government closer to the people.”

Addressing the communities, the CSDA team led by Ani highlighted the importance of active grassroots participation in identifying priority projects through the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) process.
Ani noted that the exercise provided an opportunity to deepen community understanding of the programme, encourage residents to articulate their most pressing needs and promote collective ownership of interventions designed to improve access to essential basic services.

“CSDA also emphasised the need for communities to work together to ensure that identified projects respond directly to the needs of the people.
“The sensitised communities will receive project interventions as soon as documentation is concluded,” he said.
The sensitisation exercise attracted the presence of Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu of Ogui-Nike Umunevo Community and Hon Echezona Ugwu, who is the Deputy Chairman of Enugu North LGA.

The Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, Prof Gozie Ogbodo, and Deputy Rector, IMT, Dr Emeka Ejim, among other distinguished personalities.
At Ogui-Nike Umunevo Community, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu, hailed Gov Mbah’s rural development intervention drive, which is touching many communities positively in the state.
“What Gov. Mbah is doing through CSDA is unique and its impact is felt across communities and my community benefitting also,” Ugwu said.
The Rector, Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, Prof Gozie Ogbodo, said that the institution was overjoyed for the intervention packages coming through the CSDA from the state government.
