NYSC Lauds Mbah’s Support As CSDA Addresses Water Challenge In Orientation Camp
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has applauded Gov. Peter Mbah’s support even as Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) addresses water challenge within Orientation Camp in Agwu.
The Head, NYSC Enugu State Chapter, Mrs Oluwakemi Awolola, gave the commendation during a courtesy and working visit of NYSC officials to the CSDA on Monday

Awolola said that the working visit was to explore practical solutions to water supply challenges at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
She noted that the visit had provided an opportunity for both leaders and teams (from NYSC and CSDA) to discuss the challenges affecting the effective operation and distribution of water within the camp.

According to her, there is a need to improve existing boreholes, strengthen solar power systems and extend water supply to essential facilities and centres in the camp.
“The NYSC Director-General appreciates His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, for his constant and huge support to the NYSC Camp, Awgu, reputed to be the first NYSC Camp in Nigeria.
“Our NYSC boss also commended the General Manager of CSDA for his proactiveness and administrative excellence,” she said.

Responding, General Manager of CSDA, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani, assured the agency’s readiness to work with the NYSC management to identify workable and cost-effective solutions to the challenges mentioned.
The CSDA boss further noted that the agency would examine the existing facilities, including the boreholes, pumps, storage tanks and solar installations, to determine the most appropriate measures required.
“The proposed intervention is expected to improve water distribution to strategic points within the camp and reduce the challenges associated with inadequate electricity and the high cost of running generators.
“Both parties acknowledged that addressing these issues will require careful planning, technical expertise and effective coordination to ensure that resources are put to the best possible use,” he said.

The engagement underscored CSDA’s commitment to community-focused development and the provision of essential services that improve people’s welfare.
Through continued collaboration with relevant institutions, the agency had been working towards ensuring that existing infrastructure serves its intended purpose and that the water needs of corps members at the Awgu Orientation Camp receive the attention they deserve.
