Corps Commander Patrick Egwu, on Wednesday, assumed duty as the 22nd Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Enugu State Command.
Egwu, who has vast experience in road safety operations and administration, was previously the Zonal Head of Administration, FRSC Zone 9 Headquarters, Enugu.
The new sector commander told newsmen he would ensure reduction in road crashes in the state as his principal focus.
“My major goal is to ensure reduction of road crashes on roads especially the Ugwu-Onyeama axis of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and the Ozalls axis of Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway,” he said.
Egwu also noted that he would pursue attainment of the 2026 FRSC Corporate Strategic Goals meant to improve road safety service delivery and ensure fuller lives on the road.

He also called for cooperation from stakeholders especially fleet operators, commercial drivers, motorists and all road users.
According to him, road safety remains a shared responsibility of every road user and by extension all Nigerians.
“FRSC is the lead agency on road safety and management. However, we need everybody and their contributions to ensure our roads are safe always.
“I will also call for a strong synergy and collaboration from sister security agencies and other organizations even the journalists to enable us achieve our set goals,” he said.
