Nkerefi Women Honour Ani …. Present Him With Outstanding Son Award
The Nkerefi Women General Assembly, popularly known as ‘Ndi Nne Maama’, has honoured the General Manager of the Enugu State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Chief Monday Diamond Ani, with an Outstanding Son Award.
The Nkerefi Women General Assembly is comprised of women from the four autonomous communities in the town, which are: Imeoha Nkerefi, Enuogu Nkerefi, Ishienu Amofu Nkerefi and Ohuani Amofu Nkerefi in Nkanu East Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State.
The President of the Assembly and former Deputy Chairperson of Nkanu East LGA, Hon. Barr Ngozi Ogbonna, presented the award on Thursday at the closing of the Mega Annual General Return Meeting (known as August Meeting) which took place at the Community Secondary School Nkerefi.
Ogbonna eulogised Ani for his remarkable contributions towards the growth of Nkerefi Town over the years.
“We are grateful for your constant support to the women of this town and your humanitarian gestures in general.
“This innate and distinguished quality have made you an Outstanding Nkerefi Son.
“Hence, you are deserving of this Special Award of Recognition from we, the Nkerefi women,” he said.
Responding, Ani promised to continue to do his best for his community/town towards a better and liveable society.
“As it is said, the reward for a work well-done is more work; this award will further spur me to do more and better the lives of women and the entire Nkerefi people,” he said.
The event attracted several dignitaries from and beyond Nkerefi town; while it featured a match-pass display from several branches of the Assembly within the state, across the country as well as Special Honorary Salutes.
