Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, and the national leadership of the Accord Party have adopted President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
According to the statement, Governor Adeleke and the party’s national leadership held a meeting on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where they deliberated extensively on issues affecting the party.
The statement said the party’s leadership resolved to support President Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid, stressing the need for the administration to complete ongoing road and infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
It added that the meeting also reviewed preparations for the August governorship election in Osun State, with the party calling for a peaceful electoral process free from violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the use of security agencies against Accord Party members.
Olajengbesi said those who attended the meeting included the National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph; and other members of the party’s national leadership.
The meeting was also attended by Accord Party state chairmen from across the country.
