Dr Oluwatoyin Alabi
IPUNEC Chairman has been praised for mobilizing vigilance and strengthening collaboration across Kwara South
The people of Igbomina land have lauded the Chairman of the Igbaja Progressive Union National Executive Council (IPUNEC), Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to enhancing security and community welfare across the region.
In the wake of rising security concerns in parts of Kwara South, Dr. Alabi has been widely recognized for mobilizing community vigilance, strengthening collaboration among local stakeholders, and maintaining active engagement with government agencies to safeguard lives and property.
Observers noted that while local communities play a crucial role in tackling insecurity, many lack the human, material, and financial capacity to do so effectively. They therefore called on the government to increase support and intervention, even as citizens continue to contribute through vigilance and cooperation.
Analysts further linked Igbomina’s developmental setbacks in the past to an overdependence on self-help efforts, which sometimes allowed government institutions to evade their responsibilities.
They stressed that maintaining a balance between community participation and governmental accountability is key to achieving long-term progress.
The security situation in Kwara North was also cited as a point of concern, with reports of increasing banditry in the area. Unlike Igbomina, residents there have been less vocal in demanding decisive action, a factor some believe has worsened insecurity.
Under Dr. Alabi’s stewardship, IPUNEC has earned praise for its inclusive, transparent, and results-oriented leadership style.
His efforts have not only fostered unity among Igbomina communities but also reaffirmed the importance of organized local leadership in addressing security and development challenges from the grassroots.
