    Oshogbo (FLOWERBUDNEWS):  Moses Lohor, the Police Officer who shot Mr Alowonle Iyanda, the Osun state motor transport system chairman has been arrested by the police as Governor Ademola Adeleke called for peace.

    FLOWERBUDNEWS learnt that the Inspector General of Police had earlier ordered the arrest of Lohor over the shooting.

    Amidst the tension, Governor Ademola Adeleke called for peace to allow the authorities investigate and deliver justice on the attempted murder of  Mr Alowonle Iyanda, the state motor transport system chairman.

    This was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by Mallan  Olawale Rasheed, the Spokesperson to the State Governor.

     

    Mallam Rasheed Wrote:

    The Governor particularly pleaded with transport workers statewide not to take laws into their hands and allow state and federal authorities to address the issue for justice to prevail.

    The Governor noted that he had spoken to the Inspector General of Police and that immediate actions have been directed by the police authorities to bring to book those who shot the State Park Management System chairman.

    “I call on Osun transport workers to maintain peace and not to take laws into their own hands. I have acted on this sad incident. I spoke with the police Chief and I had a closed door meeting with the Commissioner of Police. Justice will be served.

    “We will not allow agents of violence to destroy the peace and stability of our dear state. Do not be provoked to violence. Go about your normal duties while we handle this serious threat to the peace of our state”, the Governor was quoted as saying.

    Meanwhile, following the fatal shooting of the Chairman of Osun State Motor Transport System, Comrade Iyanda Alowonle, the Inspector General of Police ordered immediate arrest and prosecution of Head of Police Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Osun State, Moses Lohor and members of his team for attempted murder.

    This was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Security, Samuel Ojo Esq after a closed door meeting between the Governor and the State Commissioner of Police.

    Moses Lohor had shot Mr Alowonle in the abdomen at the police station after his arrest over a domestic brawl with a neighbor. The park chairman is currently on life support at the Intensive Care Unit of the Osun State Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

    Mr Ojo narrated that the police authorities frowned at Moses’ conduct as unprofessional, illegal, unauthorized, and against operational code, noting that Moses and his men are about to be moved to Abuja this morning.

    “We can confirm that the police authorities at the highest level have acted decisively on this matter.

    A clear punitive directive was issued by the IG. Mr Governor has directed we follow up to ensure that justice is served”,  Mr Ojo noted. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)

    Oshogbo (FLOWERBUDNEWS): Professional Artisans engaged in the construction of Akoda Okegada road have urged Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke to disregard distracting critics and concentrate on providing more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

    The artisans were speaking when a media team of FLOWERBUDNEWS visited the Akoda road which is being constructed by the Governor Adeleke’s administration along with several others currently ongoing in most major towns of Osun state.

    They said: ” we are evidence of the beneficiaries of the good governance of Governor Adeleke in Osun state. We have been enjoying stable income and economic benefits since this road project began over a year ago,”

    They urged the Governor to disregard ”unfair and unnecessary criticisms from persons who would want to be blind to the goodness which Governor Adeleke has brought to Osun state.”

    FLOWERBUDNEWS team reports that the Governor Adeleke administration is currently undertaking mega projects in Ilesha, Ile-Ife, State Capital – Oshogbo among others.

    The Professional Artisans, who are employed by ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED AND Great Enyork Technology Limited, the main contractors handling the road project, said that execution of the capital projects by the Gov. Adeleke administration has empowered them.

    ”We thank Governor Adeleke for providing gainful means of livehood for many of us through this constriction work,” they told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    ”We have been working with this company, ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED for more than one year on this job, and it has brought economic stability and well-being to my family and myself,” a professional surveyor interviewed on site told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    ”I, personally, am benefitting from this project. I have been receiving salary regularly from our company -ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED, which is benefiting me and my family,” the surveyor told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    The site Engineer of ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED, Engr. AbduLateef Olagunju.said, ”we all appreciate Governor Adeleke who has provided us with means of livelihood through these projects.”

    ”We are all benefiting financially, while the community would benefit for years to come when the road project is completed and fully put to use,” another worker, Mr. Samson Adereti told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    The Project Managers of both ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED and
    .Great Enyork Technology Limited told FLOWERBUDNEWS that economic empowerment provided by the ongoing project was more than payment of salaries by their companies to the employed workers.

    Other beneficiaries, who are busy making brisk business and money through the project included cement dealers, who have been busy and happy with stable business of supplying cement to the companies, they stated.

    Other beneficiaries of the ongoing Adeleke Administration’s Akoda Okegada road project, included the suppliers of diesel, those supplying granite, those supplying stone base and stone dust, they told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    ”Members of the tippers’ owners association are also busy making brisk business on this project,” the Project Managers told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    Engr. AbdSalam A. of ENGINEC INTERGRATED ENGINEERING LIMITED said that the beneficiary of the Gov. Adeleke’s road project also included the construction equipment leasing companies who were also benefiting through increased patronage opportunity and financial income the ongoing project provided for them.     Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Osun State Government has tabled the very serious issues it has against the Mining Company, Segilola Resources Operating Ltd, before the fact-finding delegation from the Federal Ministry of Mining for possible amicable resolution.

    The Special Adviser (SA) to Gov. Ademola Adeleke on Mining, Prof. Lukman Jimoda who spoke first at the meeting with the delegation on Friday said that Osun State’s complain were majorly three, namely; Tax Evasion, Environmental Pollution/damage and Shareholding.

    Prof. Jimoda alleged that Segilola Mining has evaded payment of tax to the state government to the tune of about N3.25 Billion naira.

    FLOWERBUDNEWS reports that the meeting was presided over by the Osun State Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi and was attended by several stakeholders in the state, including some members of the state House of Assembly, Consultants in the Mining sector among others

    Prof. Jimoda explained that Osun state had an accumulated 5.1 Million bonus shares with Segilola, stressing, ”let’s face the fact, Segilola has not been sincere with us and has encroached on our licence”.

    The Special Adviser on Mining told the Federal Government Delegation that Segilola ”has heavily polluted our air, water and land,” alleging further that the company has been operating six other firms which were not disclosed to the Osun state government.

    Prof. Jimoda stressed that the State Government had endured the Company’s alleged transgressions for about two  years,” saying to the Federal Government delegation, ”we respect you, so please be neutral and sincere,.

    The Leader of the delegation, Engr. Imam Ganiyu assured that the delegation was in the state for an amicable resolution of the disagreement between the state government and the company.

    Engr. Ganiyu urged the Prof. Jimoda, the SA to the Governor to furnish the delegation with any additional information and evidence that would help it on the matter.

    Deputy Governor Adewusi stated the commitment of Governor Adeleke to finding an amiable, but just solution to the company’s alleged transgressions against Osun State

    ”Osun is the most peaceful state in the country,” Deputy Governor Adewusi said, but cautioned, ”but we should not be taken for granted”.

    The delegation is expected to also meet separately with representatives of Segilola to hear their side of the case to enhance its task. (FLOWERBUDNEWS)

    Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews) Gov. Ademola Adeleke has distributed over 8,000 bundles of hybrid cassava stems to farmers as part of government’s efforts to boost food production in Osun state.

    The Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Hon. Olaniran Akanfe, who disclosed this in an interview with Flowerbudnews in Oshogbo, said that the
    Cassava stems were shared to farmers across the 30 local government areas of the state free.

    Hon. Akanfe told Flowerbudnews that the gesture was part of Gov. Adeleke’s resolve to achieve adequate food production in the state at minimal cost to farmers.

    The Special Adviser disclosed that while sharing the thousands of bundles of cassava stems, the Governor also distributed thousands of nursed hybrid Cashew trees to the farmers for establishment of cashew farms.

    Hon. Akanfe disclosed that the state government had also shared thousands of insecticide to the farmers to ease their farming operations and also help them safe cost.

    Flowerbudnews Correspondent who visited the state ministry of Agriculture reports that farmers from different local government areas of the state were seen collecting bundles the Adeleke hybrid cassava stems.

    ”I am so happy to collect Ege Adeleke and I pray that GOD will continue to be with our dedicated and kind Governor,” one farmer, Mr. AbdulRauf Sakariya told FLOWERBUDNEWS in an interview after collecting bundles of the hybrid cassava stem

    Officials of the Ministry were seen meticulously documenting particulars and details of the identities of the benefiting farmers and their farms.

    A beneficiary farmer who collected several bundles of the hybrid cassava stems and several nursed trees of hybrid cashew for planting told FLOWERBUDNEWS that;

    ”it is incredible a governor and his government can be this nice to the people, no farmer will collect this free and would not pray for more GOD’s blessings to Gov. Adeleke”.

    ”Infact, people in Abuja should come and learn how to run an effective and beneficial government from our Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke,’: the farmer, Ayofe Olalere told FLOWERBUDNEWS.

    Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Construction work on the flyover bridge being constructed at Okefia area of Oshogbo by the Osun State Government has now reached the superstructure level, signaling gradual completion of major works.

    Flowerbudnews Correspondents who visited the Okefia project site reports that workers were seeing working briskly to ensure completion and availability of the flyover bridge for public use before end of year.

    The Project Manager of the constructing firm, A’SKORJ Nigeria Limited, Engr. Tosin Adebayo, beamed with satisfaction at the progress being made, saying; ”with our completion of the bridge’s superstructure, we are now at the stage where we are ready to launch the beam”.

    ”We are just waiting for the beams to fully cure before we launch them,” Engr. Adebayo said, adding that the laying out of the beams (launching), would be undertaken with cranes which would lift and arrange them on the superstructure.

    He explained that ”earth works has commenced to cut and balance (the ground) to the formation level of the sub-base,” another sign of project’s gradual completion.

    Engr. Adebayo also disclosed that work was ongoing on the retaining wall ramp which which would connect the bridge level.

    He told Flowerbudnews that a synergy had been achieved with the contractor handling the dual carriage to ensure that motorists would be navigating pleasurably without bottleneck ever again.

    The Project Manager disclosed that a service lane would also be created to ease traffic flow in and out of Olu Alabi as part of efforts to smoothen usage of the dual carriageway and the flyover bridge.

    Engr. Adebayo commended officials of the Osun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for their effective support and professional supervisory role, which he noted, had assisted the construction work tremendously.

    Flowerbudnews learnt that the Ministry’s officials, including the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Bashir Bello had been relentlessly monitoring the project to ensure that it is completed to the highest possible standard and on time in line with the directives of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

    The Okefia flyover is one of the numerous Mega Projects being undertaken by the Governor Ademola Adeleke Administration to boost public infrastructure, create jobs and enhance economic empowerment of the people of the state.(Flowerbudnews)

    Ife (Osun State): The Engineering Firm, Messrs SAMMYA NIGERIA LIMITED, handling the Osun State Government Mega Project of Flyover Bridge at Lagere in Ile-Ife has vowed to complete the project on schedule and in very high quality.

    The company Manager, Rotimi Olugbade gave the assurance when an editorial team of Flowerbudnews visited the project site to appraise and report on its execution to keep the public abreast of progress being made on the Mega Project.

    Olugbade, who is also the Administrative Officer of the company particularly commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for adequately funding the Flyover bridge project.

    ”This is a serious government. They are making resources available adequately, hence we too, as contractor, has no reason whatsoever to delay on the project,” Olugbade told Flowerbudnews.

    ”They, (the Osun State governnent) are giving us all what we need, and, I can assure that this project would be completed in high standard and within the stipulated time.

    ”infact, we are working to ensure that we even completed the project before the agreed deadline,” the Company Manager told Flowerbudnews.

    Olugbade specially commended Gov. Adeleke saying; ”It is clear that this government has the people at heart,” noting that by properly funding the Lagere Flyover project, Gov. Adeleke has economically empowered so many people who, according to him, were now earning good income by working on the project site etc

    ”With this project, the Governor has helped to reduce unemployment in Ife,” he said, adding that suppliers of Iron steel, cement, etc, were also busy making brisk business from patronage by SAMMYA NIGERIA LIMITED.

    ”Even, food vendors are making money through patronage by our worker,” Olugbade stated.

    ”The additional good thing about this Lagere project is that we are majorly patronizing indigenes of Osun state for our supplies as a way to further help the Governor empower his people economically,” he told Flowerbudnews.

    The Company Manager also commended the people Ile-Ife for their cooperation with his company on the project, saying, ”the community has been very cooperative”.

    ”Even on demolition to create space for the project, the people cooperated very well” Olugbade said.

    Also, an Expatriate Engineer on the project, Engr. Samir who spoke to Flowerbudnews, commended the state government for properly funding the flyover bridge project which he noted was making the work progress smoothly and without any delay. (Flowerbudnews)

    Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Osun State Government has rehabilitated the state’s water works and sunk over 300 boreholes to ensure availability of portable water for citizens in both the urban and rural areas of the state.

    Flowerbudnews reports that the resuscitated Osun State Water Works is now pumping and delivering pipe borne water to towns across the state, including Oshogbo, Ikirun, Ede, Irepa, Awo, Ebedi, Erin and Origbo.

    Other towns currently being serviced with water from the rehabilitated water works located in Ede, included Edun-Abon, Ode-Omu, Gbongan and Ede road, Ife among others.

    Speaking in an interview with Flowerbudnews on the achievements and efforts of the Gov. Ademola Adeleke Administration to provide portable water to all the nook and cranny of the state, Hon. Bashir Tokunbo Salami, the Commissioner for Special Duties said that the government was determined to restore the glory of Osun state in quality water production and provision.

    Flowerbudnews recall that Osun state had, way back in 1998, won an award from UNESCO for being the state having the BEST and SAFEST Pipe Borne water in Nigeria.

    Hon. B. T. Salami said that the state government had also introduced SMALL TOWN WATER SCHEMES to further localise provision of healthy and uninterrupted safe water to the people in small-small towns across the state from their nearby streams.

    The Honourable Commissioner said that the government was targeting construction of about 37 such small towns’ water schemes.

    Hon. Salami disclosed that towns to benefit from the scheme included Esa-Oke, Oke-Osun Orile-Owu among many others.

    On boreholes, the Commissioner told Flowerbudnews that the state government was targeting the construction of additional over 300 boreholes across the state, all in efforts to ensure that no community suffer for portable water in the state.

    Flowerbudnews confirmed that the 332 boreholes already completed and inaugurated by the Gov. Adeleke administration were provided with standby generators for maximum functioning.(Flowerbudnews)

    Akoda (Ede): Flowerbudnews: Osun State Government has charged contractors handling its numerous road projects across the state to accelerate work and ensure high quality construction.

    Flowerbudnews reports that the Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Works, Engr. Bashir Idowu Bello gave the charge on Wednesday during a quality inspection visit to the site of the Akoda – Ede dual carriage way currently under construction.

    Engr. Bello admonished the contractors to work hard to ensure that the project was completed on schedule and of very high quality as desired by Governor Ademola Adeleke forp all the projects under execution.

    Addressing members of the Osun State Transport Management System at Akoda, Engr. Bello assured them that the state government was committed to making life easier for people of the state by executing projects beneficial to all and sundry.

    The Permanent Secretary said some adjustment would be made to the construction at Akoda to further make it easy for road transport workers to load and drop passengers without disturbing or obstructing smooth flow of traffic.

    Engr. Bello however, cautioned some workers on the project against taking unilateral decisions on adjustments and access that could complicate smooth execution of the project.

    Some of the people around Akoda who spoke with Flowerbudnews commended Governor Adeleke for the infrastructural projects going on around the state.

    Mr. Lukman Lawal said that ”the Governor is doing very well; he should go on with the good work; we are happy and proud of him”.

    An official of the Transport Management System, Mr. Mufutau Ajakaye also commended the state government for the numerous developmental projects being executed across the state.

    On his part, Dr. Moshood Akanbi, the Medical Director and owner of the famous Muslim Hospital, Ede expressed appreciation to the state government for the dualisation of the Akoda road which passes in front of his medical edifice. (Flowerbudnews)

    Oshogbo (Flowerbudnews): Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has congratulated the people of the state on the 33rd anniversary of its creation, charging all to embrace peace and harmony to achieve progress and political stability.

    He said this on Tuesday in a state -wide broadcast in Osogbo to mark the 33rd anniversary in the state capital.

    Gov. Adeleke said that the anniversary of our state must be observed with utmost thanks to Almighty God for continue to be the source of joy to all indigenes of the state: Home and diaspora.

    “It feels like yesterday since our dear state was created but it is already 33 years today, on August 27 1991 by the administration of the then head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.

    He said that Osun state was created as a result of years of unwavering commitment and sacrifice by those who believed that our unique cultural heritage, resources and potential deserved recognition and development.

    “Our state was culmination of the aspirations and struggles of our forefathers like late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Chief Bola Ige and my father Senator Raji Adeleke to be the pathway and the guiding light for the future.

    He emphasized the need for the people of the state to contribute to the development of the state by embracing the value of hard work, integrity and community defined us as a people. “Together, we ensure that the Osun of tomorrow is even greater than Osun of today.

    Stressing further : “as Osun state governor, I am committed to leading the charge with transparency, dedication and accountability.

    Gov. Adeleke called on the sons and daughters of the state to rise to the occasion by investing to uplift the human capital in our state, saying: everyone, rich or poor deserves to get the best from the inherent potential of the state.

    Felicitating with the governor on his giant strides towards the developing the state thus far, a former Osun state commissioner for Information, Youth,
    Sports and Culture , Hon. Biola Majeed Lawal admonished the citizens to join hands with the government to place the state in its position of glory.

    ” As we are rejoicing, our state is endowed with many human, natural mineral and other resources, now it is for us as indigenes to harness our potential for optimum dividends.

    Hon. Lawal who is also a former acting Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), stressed that development could only be achieved when we unite, irrespective of our political inclination, religious beliefs and other diversities.

    “This in my view is what we must all strive to do as we clock 33,” Lawal said.

    The Timi of Ede land, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal highlighted the significant achievements of governor Ademola Adeleke since he took the mantle of leadership in the state in less 2 years .

    The Timi urged all citizens to intensify prayers for more success for the governor’s agenda, noting that the Governor meant well for the state.
