FLOWERBUDNEWS: The Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA of Lagos State, Omoba Hammed Aroyewun, has pledged to continue to assist and support senior citizens and retirees, in order to make life more meaningful to them.
Omoba Aroyewun, who gave the assurance at the maiden edition of Senior Citizens Appreciation Day and distribution of Food palliatives and Cash stimulus organised by the Council, said the sacrifices and services of the Senior Citizens and retirees helped laid the fondation for the development being witnessed today.
He described the initiative as a reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, set to improve the welfare of the people, and called on the beneficiaries to be politically active ahead of the 2027 elections.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Bisi Bello-Mustapha, described the event as a memorable one with the hard-working Chairman and a day of joy for the senior citizens.
Mrs Bello-Mustapha said the assurance by Omoba Aroyewun that the programme would be continuous was exciting, with a bigger one slated for December this year.
In a remark by one of the elders, Chief Toyin Okemati, thanked the Chairman and members of his administration for recognising the Elderly, describing the distribution of Food palliatives and Cash as an efforts at appreciating the sacrifices of the Senior Citizens.#
